Saja goes to live in her uncle's estate after her mother dies in an explosion. Marwa supports Ihsan in his research on water pollution.

Tariq asks Abu Souda to find him a job. Abu Suhail gets angry that an American girl is conducting research on migratory birds in Iraq. Khaled quarrels with his sister Marwa over her relationship with Ihsan.

Claudia searches for antiquities in the estate, while she tries to convince Abu Suhail that she's doing research on birds. Saja decides to teach the women of the estate. Hasan tells his mother that he admires Saja, while Ihsan tries to publish his research in the press.

Tariq joins the resistance to avenge his father's martyrdom. Abu Lamia proposes to Tariq's mother, but she hesitates to agree. Nazim lures Hasan to work for him in return for influencing Abu Suhail to agree to his marriage to Saja.

Ibrahim offers to help Ahmed's father find his kidnapped son, on the condition that he will not agree to the deal of spoiled meat. Hasan extracts antiquities, and Nazim and Claudia threaten to kill him if he tells anyone. Ihsan returns from the hospital after a nervous shock.

Tariq is reassured after his mother's refusal to marry. Khaled asks Sattar to marry Marwa. Hasan spies on Nazim, who is looking for papyri, so he searches for it secretly.

Marwa is saddened by her engagement to Sattar. Hasan hands over the manuscripts to Saja. As Abu Souda runs for elections, he distributes money to the poor to win their votes.

Abu Suhail quarrels with Saja after his wife claims to have seen her with Hasan at home. Ihsan is unaware of Marwa's engagement, so he sends his mother to ask about her.

Abu Souda sends Khaled and his men to burn the estate and kidnap Saja to force Hasan to hand over the manuscripts. Ihsan tells Marwa's mother that the meat Khaled sent is poisoned, but she does not believe him.

Hasan escapes, and a gang asks him for information about Abu Suhail's house in return for finding Saja for him. Marwa's mother is poisoned by the meat her son sent, so Ihsan berates everyone for not believing him.

Hasan works with the gang, hoping to find Saja. Tariq works with the Resistance Division to defend Iraq. Ihsan learns that Sattar knows the owner of the poisoned meat deal.

The gang boss demands that Saja be handed over to Hasan in exchange for the manuscripts. Marwa finds out about Khaled and Sattar's kidnapping of Saja, while Abu Suhail searches for Saja, and Tariq offers him help.

Hasan gets the manuscripts and wants to hand them over in exchange for Saja. After Abu Suhail and Tariq are expelled from the hotel, they go to Abu Hadeel.

Abu Suhail fails to free Saja; Rahim quarrels with Khaled and burns his house; Abu Lamia decides to search for Saja and the manuscripts.

Saja arrives at Tariq's mother's house and tells her her story. Nazim tortures Hasan so he would lead him to Saja's house. Ihsan teams up with Marwa and Abu Lamia against Abu Souda.

Nazim kidnaps Hasan's sister, Halima, to force him to tell him the location of Saja's house. Khaled manages to free the child and take her to Marwa's.

Khaled vows to protect Saja. Marwa hesitates to agree to marry Ihsan. Abu Souda is doing his election campaign in the village. Tariq and his group go to search for the buried drugs belonging to Abu Souda.

Tariq discovers the location of the drugs and tells Ibrahim and Ahmed, but Rahim and his men kill him. Abu Suhail finds Hasan's body and hands it over to his father. While Saja and Halima are returning to the estate, Nazim's men catch Saja for the sake of the manuscripts.
