Tawfiq blames his sister Laila for standing with her classmates at the university and wearing high heels. The sheikha teaches a religious lesson in the presence of Laila in which she warns of committing sins. Gharam wants Aliaa to give massages to clients at their houses.

Sheikh Ammar asks Tawfiq to treat his sister kindly and get close to her. As Wissam tells Nadine that he loves her, Majida worries about Nadine because of her relationship with Wissam. As two young men try to assault Gharam, they hijack her car and run away; she tells Nassib who was nearby.

Wissam asks to propose to Nadine. Wissam's mother asks Majida to make Nadine wear the hijab. Aliaa feels that Sa'eed is not serious. Gharam is printing cards for Aliaa as a massage expert, and the profit will be divided in half. Amin tries to uncover the mystery of two students who are acting suspiciously.

As Aliaa goes to Gharam's house to give a client a massage, she feels that this work is forbidden. Laila's mother tells the sheikha that she's not convinced of Laila's religious commitment in the presence of classmates who are flaunting their adornment. Aliaa doesn't accept Sa'eed's apology.

Laila's classmates visit her because her psychological state is deteriorating. Sheikh Abdel Wahab asks Tawfiq to treat Laila gently. Laila returns to her studies freely. Aliaa feels remorse for her involvement in forbidden work by doing massages.

Dania gets close to Hany because she feels emotionally deficient. Nassib asks Gharam to keep their relationship a secret since she's married and due to the sensitivity of his position as a minister. Aliaa buys a wheelchair for her paralyzed father. Nadine gets in a car accident.

Dania and Hany's relationship grows stronger. Amin takes care of his injured daughter Nadine. As Gharam refuses to lend Aliaa money, she asks her to work in prostitution. Tawfiq gets a girl pregnant and evades her. Aliaa acquiesces to Gharam's request because of her tough financial circumstances.

Aliaa's father's condition suddenly deteriorates. As the director Ra'fat visits Nadine, she tells him that she admires his work. Dima’s mother threatens Tawfiq after he deceives her daughter and gets her pregnant. Hajj Saleh asks for Laila's hand for Mahmoud.

Tawfiq feels remorse for what he did with Dima. Majida is absent from her work to take care of Nadine after the accident. Ra'fat invites Nadine to attend his theatrical show. The manager decides to fire Salem and ignores his sister, Aliaa.

Tawfiq offers a sum of money to Dania's mother. As Aliaa goes to do makeup for Ruqaya, she's surprised that she is Sa'eed's wife. As Amin tries to defend Salem, Aliaa asks Gharam to mediate to prevent Salem's dismissal from school. A student tells the sheikha that she has seen Laila with Jihad.

Gharam warns Aliaa about Nassib and threatens to expose her. As Sa'eed tries to talk to Aliaa, she rebuffs him. Rasha accuses Ra'fat of having a relationship with the heroine of the play. As Gharam returns Salem to school, she tells Nassib that Sa'eed, her son-in-law, is in a relationship with Aliaa.

When Tawfiq catches Laila with Jihad, he clashes with him and tries to kill him. Bashir clashes with Sa'eed, objecting to his work with Nassib. Laila's father refuses Tawfiq's assault on Laila and asks her to marry Mahmoud.

The sheikha asks Laila's mother to punish her daughter. As Yasser proposes to Dania, she tries to refuse because of her attachment to Hany. As Tawfiq flogs Laila, Sheikh Ammar gets angry with him for accusing her of adultery without evidence.

Sheikh Ammar tells Laila that the Islamic religion is not a religion of prevention or strictness. Johnny asks Aliaa to apologize to Ruqaya, otherwise, he will fire her. Nadine is sad because Ra'fat evaded her because she loves him. Laila marries Mahmoud, but she's still thinking about Jihad.

As Shady devises a plot against Amin, he incites a classmate to file a sexual harassment complaint against him. Amin is suspended from work. Ra'fat flirts with Nadine’s mother and denies having any relationship with her daughter. Mahmoud tries to get close to Laila.

Aliaa throws Ruqaya out of her home and refuses to have any connection with her. Nadine decides to end her relationship with Ra'fat. Gharam threatens to expose Aliaa in front of her family. Salem decides to leave school. Nassib goes to Aliaa to know why she evades him.

In spite of pushing him away, Mahmoud tells Laila that he has loved her since childhood. As Ra'fat complains to Majida about Nadine’s attack on him, Majida thinks about taking her to a psychiatrist. Aliaa kicks Nassib out. Tawfiq gets angry because of the sheikh’s prohibition on suicide operations.

Gharam threatens to expose compromising pictures of Aliaa if she contacts Nassib, who suffers a fracture in the neck and is taken to the hospital. Dania tells Nadine that Hany is a thief. Aliaa tells Gharam that she's getting married and will travel. Mahmoud prepares to travel to Paris with Laila.

As Aliaa invites Nadine to her wedding, her mother clashes with her over spending money on her paralyzed father. As Laila travels with Mahmoud to Paris, she continues having nightmares. Tawfiq meets with his comrades and talks about jihad. Nadine watches her mother sitting with Ra'fat.

As Majida stops Ra'fat from making advances on her, she finds out that Amin was fired from work. After Hany is released from prison by Nassib, his brother Sa'eed tries to get close to him. Nightmares haunt Hajar because of her incitement of Laila's flogging.

Nadine goes to Dania's house in anger at her mother, Majida, who tries to justify her position and that she has nothing to do with Ra'fat. Aliaa gets married and travels. Laila's father's mental and health condition worsens. Hany sends an apology to Dania and wishes her happiness.

Mahmoud asks Laila to forget the past and start over. Aliaa lives alone abroad amid negligence from her husband. After Dania gets liposuction, she marries Yousr. Dima thinks about a way to get rid of her son after Tawfiq abandones her.

As Aliaa's mother asks her to send money to treat her father, Aliaa feels that the maid is spying on her. Nassib is running for elections in the People's Assembly. Laila decides to complete her studies in Paris. Amin's health and financial condition deteriorate after losing his job.

As members of the jihadist group pledge allegiance to Tawfiq as their leader, he asks them to train to use weapons and prepare to travel to Iraq and Afghanistan. Aliaa feels more alienated. Yousr accuses Hany of theft. As Laila remembers what Tawfiq did to her, Mahmoud asks her to forgive him.

Dania asks Nassib to give her her father's share after the partnership has ended. As Ruqaya discovers that her son has been subjected to sexual harassment, Nassib is enraged by the news; Hany, Sa'eed' brother, is unfairly accused of being the offender.

Sheikh Ammar refuses Tawfiq's resorting to using weapons. Laila takes off her veil, but Mahmoud does not force her to wear it. Dania approaches Hany. Aliaa's father dies after a struggle with his illness. Tawfiq and his group continue to train in using weapons.

Majida takes Amin to the hospital after his condition deteriorates. Laila gives birth to her first son and calls him Abdel Wahab. Bashir agrees to go to prison instead of Shady in exchange for a percentage of Nassib's shares. Shady is revealed to be gay, and Hany is innocent.

Laila discovers that Tawfiq was in a relationship with Dima and he has a son with her. As Nadia tells Tawfiq that she's pregnant by him, he throws her out. Mahmoud decides to change his residence after his neighbors object to Laila's removal of the veil. Tawfiq kills Nadia for her adultery.

The attorney Tariq decides to fire Nadine from his office. Zeina's mother rushes to the hospital to check on her abused daughter. As Aliaa returns to her country, she and Nassib have an affair. Sheikh Ammar objects to Tawfiq's actions.

Mahmoud dies after his return to the Levant. Laila's father dies. Tawfiq blows up restaurants; Tawfiq's mother dies in the bombing. As Tawfiq gets killed in a shoot-out with the police, Sheikh Ammar denounces the bombings. Laila returns to Paris. Aliaa starts over. Nadine looks for work.
