The Invasion of Kuwait takes place, and Sheikha is forced to flee the country with her husband, her friend Yousra, and their children. They all return when the war is over, and as years pass by, Yousra cuts ties with her friend. Rakan returns from abroad and stays at his mother's.
Sheikha urges her daughter Basma to follow a strict diet. Abdel Aziz asks Latifa to help him with the elections. Rakan inquires whether Basma is in a relationship or not. Umm Salem (Salem's mother) quarrels with Sheikha who refuses to wed Basma to her son.
Abdel Aziz runs for elections, and his wife Fatema consults a psychiatrist about her troubled marriage life. Meanwhile, Yousra still holds a grudge against Abdel Aziz who preferred Latifa over Yousra's daughter and married her.
With the help of his acquaintances, Abdel Aziz launches his electoral campaign. Rakan communicates to his mother his wish to wed Basma, Sheikha's daughter.
Abdel Aziz wins the elections, and Rakan's mother asks for Basma's hand in marriage for her son Rakan.
Sheikha refuses to wed Basma to Rakan and claims that she's engaged. Abdel Aziz encourages Latifa to consult a doctor to see why they haven't been able to conceive a child.
As Basma asks him to stay away from her, Rakan accepts to wed Abir. Sheikha has to listen to the demands of the townspeople in an attempt to help her son Abdel Aziz with the elections.
Basma gets engaged, and Rakan's mother invites Sheikha to her son's wedding. So'oud takes advantage of Abdel Aziz's position for his personal gain.
Basma is devastated to learn that Rakan got married, and she helplessly accepts to wed the suitor her mother chose for her. Abdel Aziz asks his father to strengthen the relationship between him and his uncle.
Basma breaks off her engagement and has a mental breakdown. Meanwhile, Rakan is unhappy with his marriage and he is still infatuated with Basma.
Samy proposes to Basma, but her mother rejects him for fear that their engagement might be broken off. Yousra looks for a store for her new project.
Basma insists on marrying Samy, but he has a tragic accident and passes away. Rakan is still cold with his wife, and her feelings for him aren't reciprocated.
Latifa tells Abdel Aziz she fears her treatment might take years. Rakan communicates to his wife his wish to end their marriage. Basma is rushed to the hospital where she has an appendectomy.
Sheikha quarrels with Rakan upon learning he is the doctor who performed the surgery on Basma. Latifa is pregnant. Mohamed returns from abroad.
So'oud asks Abdel Aziz to help him sell the company for the highest price possible. Sheikha reprimands Mohamed for his religious irreverence, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Latifa has a miscarriage, while Yousra's daughter becomes internet famous. Sheika is distressed to see the countercampaigns against her son Abdel Aziz.
Rakan tells his mother he still wants to wed Basma, while Sheikha looks for a bride for her son Mohamed.
Abu Abdel Aziz (Abdel Aziz's father) accepts to meet Rakan and asks his daughter Basma if she wants to marry him. Meanwhile, Abdel Aziz's position comes with a cost; he loses his peace of mind and suffers from people who seek personal benefits.
Sheikha reluctantly agrees to Rakan and Basma's wedding and sets a date for their engagement.
Mohamed's aunt proposes that he marries his cousin Nora. Abdel Aziz quits his post and has a burnout, leaving him in a terrible psychological state.
Abdel Aziz's state worsens, and Sheikha considers postponing Rakan and Basma's wedding.
Rakan and Basma get engaged despite Sheikha's reluctance, and the family tries to get Abdel Aziz out of his melancholic state. Nora's work in advertising is a huge success.
Mohamed rejects all the possible brides his mother chooses for him, and he is saddened to know that his crush Joud, Nour's friend, is engaged.
Mohamed still wishes to marry Joud. Basma and Rakan get married. Abdel Aziz quarrels with his friends at the cafe as their view of him has changed following his resignation.
Sheikha disapproves of Mohamed's marriage to Joud. Nawaf proposes to Nora. Sheikha asks Latifa to help her get Abdel Aziz out of his depression.
Sheikha eventually agrees to Mohamed and Joud's marriage. Latifa threatens to leave Abdel Aziz if he doesn't seek treatment.
Sheikha accepts to throw a mixed wedding ceremony for Mohamed and Joud. Abdel Aziz and Latifa quarrel over parenthood.
Mohamed and Joud get married. So'oud tells his wife that he will leave all his fortune to her and their daughter.
Sheikha is upset that Basma hasn't told her that she's pregnant. Fotouh quarrels with her adopted daughter for befriending ill-mannered girls.
Being involved in several corruption cases, So'oud flees the country, and Abdel Aziz and his father promise So'oud's wife to stand by her. Fatema tells her husband that she's pregnant.
