Abu Fakhry (Fakhry's father) breaks down after his daughter Hekmat dies, as Fawzya gets injures in an accident. It's revealed that Anwar has illegal dealings.

Abu Fakhry's condition deteriorates in the wake of his daughter's death. Khaled's wife is upset that Lord Anwar is mistreating her husband.

Mariam is upset that her husband refuses to see a doctor so that they could have a baby so she casts a spell on him to get him to go. Lotfy rents a room in Abu Ahmed's place. Bahya treats her husband Anwar coldly.

When Lord Anwar insults Khaled, his daughter Noha complains to Bahya. Sheikh Nahar is upset with Haran for being a usurer.

Abu Abdu (Abdu's father) agrees to rent his coffee shop to Lotfy and his friends to use as a gambling spot. It's revealed that Anwar has a second wife. Mon'esh wants to marry Nagah despite being already married.

When Samoura asks Lotfy to marry her, he agrees because he covets her father's fortunes. Anwar gets close to Noha as she starts her job as his secretary. Mon'esh asks Abu Abdu for Nagah's hand.

Madiha tries to convince her husband to agree to Samoura and Lotfy's marriage. Mon'esh's wife breaks down after he marries Nagah.

Noha takes advantage of Anwar's admiration of her and decides to leave Khaled. Anwar starts to pressure Khaled to divorce her. Abu Fakhry dies.

Abu Ahmed approves Samoura's marriage to Lotfy. When Abu Mahgoub and his wife are murdered, the Citadel's residents are questioned. Omran confesses to the murder despite not being the real killer.

Awad's daughter Salma dies in a car accident. Omran is released. Fawzya refuses to buy Fakhry a car.

Lotfy marries Samoura and starts working with Abu Ahmed. Nagah tries to harass Umm Adnan. Fawzya agrees to buy Fakhry a car.

Radad asks Lotfy to hold their gambling at his place so that he could get the rent instead of Abu Abdu. Nagah and her family try to take advantage of Mon'esh. Mansour tells Fawzya that Fakhry's grades are slipping.

Samoura hides the fact that Lotfy is holding gambling games in his house. Umm Adnan is upset when she learns of Nagah's pregnancy, and grows sure that she is going to bleed Mon'esh dry.

Fakhry starts to act out after he befriends Lotfy and Samoura. Sheikh Nahar admonishes Mon'esh for not caring for his family properly. Mon'esh is upset with Abu Abdu over the latter's corrupt morals.

When Nagah gives birth to a girl, Mon'esh puts the building in her name. Awad offers to partner up with Antowan. Nagah incites Mon'esh against his family.

Fakhry tells Malek that he likes Samoura and offers Lotfy money to divorce her. Malek leaves on a scholarship. Fakhry is accepted into the institution and decides to travel.

Fawzya admonishes Fakhry on his gambling and asks him to go to Cairo as soon as possible. Abu Ahmed is shocked to learn the truth about Lotfy. Samoura leaves Lotfy. Mansour asks his students to go on a demonstration against foreign control.

As demonstrations break out all over the country, Gerges dies. Jorden gets Arabized and foreign personnel no longer hold positions of command. Umm Abdu (Abdu's mother) asks her husband to reopen the restaurant.

Khaled dies after having a stroke. Anwar stands by Noha and Malek for his own purposes. Mon'esh's treatment of his family improves.

Mansour teaches Sabah math as Ra'ed falls for her. Fawzya is upset that Fares is neglecting his studies. Mon'esh is shocked when he learns that Abu Abdu opened a factory for carbonized drinks.

Ra'ed says goodbye to Sabah before he goes on a trip. Mon'esh is distressed when Abu Abdu starts competing with him. Noha worries for her son when war breaks out.

Mon'esh and Abu Abdu clash. Mon'esh regrets writing the building over for Nagah. Mariam is thrilled when Awad buys her a new house. Mansour and Abu Wedad (Wedad's father) clash over politics.

Mon'esh is distressed when Sabah dies. Mariam is worried that Awad's new financial status is luring women in. Haran blackmails Mon'esh. Haran takes revenge on Sabah's family and marries Samoura.

Mariam is upset that her husband has started neglecting her after Salma's death. Umm Abdu decides to leave the house for Mon'esh and takes her granddaughter Ezdehar with her. Monira tells Mariam that someone cast a spell on her.

As Monira decides to help Mariam break the spell, it's revealed that she is taking advantage of her. Anwar suspects that his wife found out about his marriage to Nesrine.

Lotfy starts gambling again. Bahya tells Anwar that he is sterile. Malek refuses to let his mother wed.

Anwar is fed up with Bahya's neglect and controlling behavior. When Mohareb harasses the Citadel's residents, Fakhry decides to intervene.

Fakhry stands up to Mohareb and ends his reign of terror. Fawzya is saddened that Fares has left.

Mansour is upset that the principal banned him from discussing politics. Noha marries Anwar with her son's blessing. Fares confirms that Ra'ed has changed his political stance.

Fares gets close to Nour. Abu Abdu sells his stores after business decreases. Samoura leaves Mon'esh. Nayef's application to med school is rejected.

Nayef decides to join the army. Anwar leaves Nesrine. Fares confesses his feelings for Nour. Mariam learns the truth about Monira and confronts her.

Malek agrees to work in Anwar's company but notices that Anwar doesn't want him to deal with the accounts. Ra'ed tells Fares to stay away from political parties after an attempted kidnap. Nesrine tells Bahya that she was Anwar's wife.

Mansour decides to take up journalism. Adnan tries to help his father with his crisis. Madiha is shocked when Samoura tells her that she is going to be a dancer.

Mansour is upset with Abu Wedad's amendments to his political essays. It's revealed that Malek is a member of the political movement but his mother and Anwar don't know.

Malek tries to control the union council. Umm Abdu decides to take Ezdehar to the Levant as revenge against Mon'esh. Nesrine keeps her previous marriage to Anwar from Malek.

Awad is thrilled when Mariam gets pregnant. Anwar asks Abu Wedad to stop attacking him in the newspaper. Malek learns that Nesrine's father is a counterfeiter and postpone their marriage.

Anwar becomes the union's president. Ra'ed asks the resistance fighters to start training at arms. Fawzya is thrilled when Fakhry returns. Madiha warns Samoura about Lotfy. Malek tells Nesrine that he wants to marry her in secret.

Fakhry tells Samoura to leave Lotfy and marry him. Fares decides not to go to the Levant after he was nearly detained.

Mansour asks Abu Wedad to hire Fares at the newspaper. Mon'esh decides to work against his competitors to improve his business.

Mon'esh's plan backfires. Fakhry refuses to marry anyone but Samoura. Nesrine incites Malek against Anwar.

Anwar is jealous of Malek's success. Mon'esh tries to get out of the crisis he created. Awad is thrilled when Mariam has a boy.

Nour asks Fares to confess so that he could get released on good behavior. Mon'esh competitor seizes his property. It's revealed that Antowan is trying to bring Awad down through his secretary Faten.

Mon'esh's property is auctioned off. Mariam is jealous of Awad's secretary. Awad tries to convince Haran to sell him the coffee shop.

Sabah joins the political movement behind her mother's back. Mansour helps Fares write his novel. Malek tells his mother that he used to be a part of a political movement and he is concerned that his comrades will turn on him because of his job.

Abu Wedad likes Fares's novel and decides to publish it. Ra'ed grows mad after Fares's success. Fakhry decides to help Samoura after Lotfy seizes all of her property.

Sabah regrets her affair with Ra'ed. Mariam warns Awad about his inappropriate behavior.

Fares is upset that Nour is distancing herself from him. Monira takes advantage of Mon'esh. Fares gets a job at the newspaper. Ra'ed grows cautious after a lot of people get detained.

Ra'ed decides to take revenge on Malek after he turns them in. Noha notices that Anwar's treatment has changed. Fares is shocked when Nour informs him of her engagement.

Ra'ed kills Malek. Nesrine tells Malek's mother that she is his wife. Adnan tells his father that he wants to wed.

Anwar dies. Mansour learns that Ra'ed is the one who killed Malek. Sabah marries Fares who is shocked when he learns the truth about her.

Fares decides to expose Sabah's relationship with Ra'ed. Fakhry grows close to Malek's mother and proposes to her.

Fares reconsiders and decides not to expose Sabah. Faten refuses to harm Awad out of guilt. Fares leaves Sabah.

Fawzya learns of what happened with Fares. Antowan tries to scam Awad. Fakhry marries Noha in secret against Fawzya's wishes.

Sabah confesses the truth to her mother. After several years, a statement is issued to suspend work on the constitution.

Mansour is arrested for breaking the law. Noha encourages Fakhry to start his own project.

Noha helps Fakhry with his project. Umm Berges gives birth after Abu Wedad withheld her husband's salary from her.

Umm Wedad tries to help Umm Berges but she refuses. Fawzya grows concerned about Nayef.

Nayef becomes a martyr. Fares decides to join the resistance fighters in the Levant.

Noha asks Fakhry to tells Fawzya about their marriage. Omran gives Noha information about the Citadel's residents. Antowan is upset that Awad gave away a part of his property to charity organizations.

War breaks out and Fawzya dies of her injuries. Antowan loots Awad's property and runs away.
