As the Kuwaiti student Hamad is studying in Cairo, the circumstances force him to not complete his studies and return to his country to look for work.
When Lulwa's father offers Hamad to work for him in the company, he refuses so as not to embarrass him. As Hamad starts looking for work, Lulwa helps him to get hired in the company where she works. Omar gets to know the student Rajaa at Cairo University during their studies.
Hamad is able to fulfill his dream, and prove himself in his work until he becomes a successful businessman. Omar returns to Kuwait.
Lulwa's father hires Omar in the company. Hamad submits his resignation from the company after setting up his own business. Lulwa tries to persuade her father to agree to her younger sister's, Hessa, marriage before her. Rajaa gets hired in Adel's company.
As Abu Suleiman (Suleiman's father) asks Hamad to persuade Omar to get married, Umm Lulwa (Lulwa's mother) looks forward to her daughter's marriage to him. Omar decides to travel to Bahrain on a business trip.
As Omar travels to Bahrain, he marries Rajaa without the knowledge of his uncle Abu Suleiman, who is looking forward to wed him to his daughter Lulwa. As Lulwa tries to draw Hamad's attention towards her, she discovers that he has no feelings for her.
As Umm Lulwa gets upset that Omar hasn't proposed to her daughter, she blames Abu Suleiman, who gives him an opportunity to think about it. When Hamad advises Omar to marry Lulwa, he finds out that he's married to Rajaa.
As Omar agrees to marry Lulwa, Hamad advises him to inform his uncle of his earlier marriage to Rajaa or to divorce her. Hessa marries her cousin Mahmoud.
Lulwa and Omar choose her gold jewelry and prepare for the wedding. As Rajaa travels to Bahrain, Omar looks forward to informing her of his engagement to Lulwa.
When Rajaa discovers Omar's marriage to Lulwa, she asks for a divorce. Rajaa is surprised that she's pregnant at the same time as Lulwa's pregnancy; Omar believes that she has a false pregnancy just as it happens every time.
Laila insists on meeting Omar and confirming Rajaa's pregnancy. As Omar travels to London to undergo medical examinations, he refuses to inform Lulwa of his illness. Rajaa gives birth to her daughter and names her Ahlam.
Years pass and Lulwa gives birth to Omar's son. As Omar's medical condition worsens, he asks Hamad to meet Rajaa, but he dies before meeting her. When Hamad discovers that Rajaa has a child, he thinks that she has married another.
Hamad and Rajaa get close after he learns that she has not married after Omar, and that she has a daughter with him. Khaled, a colleague of Rajaa in the company, signs a contract with Abdul Mohsen's company. Everyone waits for six months to pass until Omar's will is executed after his death.
As Hamad asks to marry Rajaa, he is surprised by a picture of Ahlam in her office, but she doesn't tell him that she is her daughter. Hamad asks his mother not to inform Rajaa that they know that she has a daughter with Omar.
Abu Suleiman refuses to sell Khaled's family home in order to complete his studies and decides to help him with that; Suleiman thinks about taking revenge on him by planting drugs on him.
Suleiman admits his intention to put Khaled in jail because he doubts that his father is in a relationship with Khaled's sister, Ghanima. When Hamad asks Rajaa about the child she lives with, she falsely claims that she is her niece; Rajaa suspects that he wants Omar’s family to take custody of her.
Hamad discovers that Rajaa has traveled and submitted her resignation. As the lawyer opens Omar’s will after a year of his death, they discover Omar’s request that Hamad looks after Lulwa and his son Yusef. Umm Lulwa thinks about marrying Hamad to her daughter.
Lulwa rejects the idea of marrying Hamad and wants only to look after her son Yusef. As Yusef gets in a car accident, Hamad takes care of him until he leaves the hospital. After a lot of hesitation and pressure from her parents, Lulwa agrees to marry Hamad.
As Lulwa marries Hamad in a simple wedding ceremony, she travels with him to spend their honeymoon in Cairo. Hind is shocked after Hamad chooses to marry Lulwa over her.
As Lulwa becomes pregnant, she resents Hamad's lack of interest in her pregnancy and that he traveled to Bahrain without her. When Hamad meets Rajaa in Bahrain, he discovers that her daughter is Ahlam and not her niece Laila; Hamad promises Rajaa not to divulge her secret to Omar's family.
As Hamad tells Rajaa that he still loves her and wants to marry her, she's still worried that he will take her daughter to Omar's family. Umm Suleiman refuses to wed her son to Abu Suleiman's secretary.
As Ahmed Khamis, a friend of Rajaa's family, is looking forward to marrying her, Hamad is thinking about telling Rajaa about his marriage to Lulwa so that he marries her. Hamad agrees with Abu Suleiman to take care of Suleiman and search for a psychiatrist for him.
As Rajaa tells Hamad that she is afraid that he will take her daughter away, she is shocked when she learns of his marriage to Lulwa. As Hamad tells Rajaa that Lulwa is just a wife, she refuses his marriage request, so he advises her to marry Ahmed Khamis.
As Rajaa reluctantly agrees to marry Ahmed, she remembers her love for Omar and Hamad's love for her in the past. Hamad finds Umm Suleiman ill in the hospital. Abu Suleiman is thinking about buying a house for his son. Hamad, Lulwa, and Yusef travel to Bahrain to attend the engagement ceremony.
Yusef gets to know Ahlam without knowing that they are brother and sister. Rajaa and Ahmed's wedding is held. Lulwa complains to Hind about Hamad's ongoing relationship with Laila. Ahmed proposes to Rajaa that Laila and her daughter stay in Kuwait with Hamad.
Rajaa travels with Ahmed to the Netherlands and leaves her daughter with Laila. Suleiman's wedding takes place. Hamad tells Adel that Omar has built a villa for Rajaa before his death, and that he will hand it over to her daughter Ahlam and Laila. Lulwa gives birth to her second child.
When Hind sees Hamad with Laila, he asks her not to inform Lulwa about this. As Umm Lulwa dies, Ahlam returns to Kuwait and asks Laila to know the address of her late father's family, as she tries to go to them.
Abu Suleiman meets Ahlam, and when her mother arrives in Kuwait, she insists on keeping her away from the family of her father, Omar. Abu Suleiman gets sick and is taken to the hospital.
As Rajaa takes her daughter Ahlam with her, Ahlam tries to persuade Hamad to let her stay with Abu Suleiman, but he refuses. Abu Suleiman dies. As the years pass by, Ahlam enrolls at the university in Cairo; Yusef meets his sister Ahlam there. Lulwa confronts Hamad about his relationship with Laila.
As Hamad asks Hind not to interfere in his life again, he tells her that he will marry Laila, but the latter declines and leaves the company and travels. As Lulwa insists on a divorce, Hamad is forced to stay with her, and give up his dream of marrying Laila to honor his friend Omar's wishes.
