Two years after Jamal was imprisoned, the lawyer Hamed informs Rania that Jamal has been acquitted after the real culprit was arrested. Rania's husband, Bahaa, is angered by the news since he was the head prosecutor on the case. The anchorman Essam Al-Kashef hires Hamed and Rania to defend him.

When Rania visits Essam's office, they quarrel and she decides to drop his case. Despite her engagement to another, Karim pursues Reham and asks her to take him back. As Essam asks Rania to take his case again, he kicks Salah Al-Fakahany out of his office.

Reem's health goes downhill after her father Bahaa refuses to allow her to stay with her mother. Hamed asks Rania to go with Essam to court. Rania wins the case against Shawkat. The actress Sanaa quarrels with Essam and vows revenge on him. Jamal decides to sue Bahaa to demand compensation.

Bahaa asks Rania to come back home. Nawal asks Essam to wed. Rania's father, Osman, falls for Nawal and tries to get close to her. Essam agrees to work with Ahmed. Bahaa is angered that Jamal has met Essam. Rania and Bahaa get a divorce.

As Rania helps Karim find a job, Karim professes his love for Reham and asks her to take him back. Rania tries to reconcile Sanaa and Essam. The court rules in Jamal's favor in his case against Bahaa. Bahaa refuses to appear on Essam's show to clear his name. Osman proposes to Nawal.

As Nawal asks Osman to approve his daughter Eman's engagement, they wed on the same day that Eman gets engaged. A year later, Ahmed has climbed the ranks in the TV channel. Nabil threatens Essam and tells him to stay away from Rania. The police find Essam murdered in his apartment.

Nawal refuses to have a wake for Essam until his killer is found. As Nawal is rushed to the hospital, the police question Essam's enemies. Despite his father's disapproval, Ahmed decides to travel to the Gulf for work. Rania finds a keychain with the doorman of the building where Essam was killed.

Rania continues to look for the owner of the car whose keys she found with the doorman. Osman tries to convince Ahmed to rethink his plans to travel. Rania grows suspicious of Maha, Ahmed's fiancée, who hasn't been to the newspaper since Essam was killed. The police question the doorman, Maghawry.

As Rania asks Nawal to look for the owner of the keychain, Nawal informs her that Essam was in conflict with Salah Al-Fakahany. The police ask Rania for the keychain. Ahmed gets arrested for Essam's murder after the keys are matched to his car.

Bahaa insists on taking the lead in Essam's case. Rania is pursued by the media in the wake of her brother's arrest. Essam's neighbor, Anhar, tells Rania that she has important information. Donia breaks off her engagement to Walid after he doubts Ahmed's innocence.

Bahaa questions Rania about her meeting with Essam on the day of his murder. Reham's mother refuses Karim's proposal to her daughter. The police find Ahmed's fingerprints on the dagger that killed Essam. Maha asks the secretary to look for an incriminating piece of paper in Essam's office.

After he questions the secretary, Bahaa visits Nawal and informs her that the dagger has Ahmed's fingerprints. Rania enlists Nawal's help to find the real killer. Nabil asks Hamed to mediate for him to marry Rania. Rania grows suspicious of Nabil, especially after the doorman recognizes him.

Rania questions Ahmed about the relationship between Nabil and Essam. Anhar's grandson, Yehia, moves in with her. Bahaa accuses Nabil of murder and questions him. Nabil resigns to protest Rania's accusation of him. The secretary, Salma, asks Maha for money in exchange for the incriminating paper.

Shawkat recounts his meeting with Essam to Rania, denying Essam's accusation of his involvement in a shady construction deal. Rania is unable to believe Shawkat's story. Sanaa starts treating Reham's mother. Eman asks Rania to find a job for Yehia to mine him for information about his grandmother.

As Rania grows suspicious of Essam, she thinks that he may have blackmailed Shawkat. Hamed looks for Salah Al-Fakahany to discern the truth. Salma refuses to give Maha the incriminating paper. Sanaa informs Rania that Essam blackmailed her and threatened to run a smear campaign against her school.

Rania gives Nawal a file that contains details about everything that Essam had done, but Nawal refuses to believe her. Nabil promises to help Rania. Salma resigns and vanishes. When Nawal finds a secret safe in Essam's officer, she discovers documents incriminating him inside.

Rania suspects that Nawal is hiding something from her. The police look for Salah to question him, but he defends Essam. Nawal is shocked to discover that Essam had a huge bank account. Anhar tells Rania that Essam and Samah had an unregistered marriage, but Essam abandoned Samah after she fell pregnant.

Anhar tells Rania that Essam refused to legally marry Samah. Samah passes away after aborting herself. When Rania tells Bahaa the whole story, he asks for evidence to condemn Essam. Bahaa refuses his mother's request for him to marry Rasha. Rania suspects that Yehia might be the one who killed Essam.

At court, Bahaa asks for the death penalty for Ahmed. Rania defends Ahmed and asks for the testimonies of Shawkat, Sanaa, Anhar, and Yehia. When Nawal confirms that Essam was taking bribes, she gives the file to Rania, who delivers it to the prosecution. Nawal condemns her brother in court.

Bahaa is shocked by Nawal's testimony. Anhar is rushed to the intensive care after being summoned to court. Salma gives Maha the paper that incriminates her. Rania confronts Bahaa's father, Kamel, after she discovers the connection between him and Essam.

Kamel informs Rania that Essam sent Salah Al-Fakahany to him to negotiate a bribe in exchange for not exposing the information about his and Osman's tampering with a tender. He also tells her that Essam blackmailed Saber, the official in charge of the tenders, and Saber's assistant Khamis.

Rania enlists Bahaa's help to meet Ezzat, who was imprisoned on false charges. It's revealed that Maha and Essam had an unregistered marriage. Ezzat informs Rania about another corruption case. Rania confronts her father about the bribes he paid. Sanaa hires Karim as her business manager.

Yehia confesses his love for Eman. As Kamel agrees on a plan to expose Saber, he lies to Saber and offers him a bribe for a new tender. Rania confronts Ahmed with her suspicions of him. Saber gets arrested.

Karim confesses his love for Sanaa and proposes to her. In prison, a guy asks Saber to keep silent about the others who have been taking bribes. Karim marries Sanaa in secret. Bahaa decides to recuse himself. Salah denies knowing anything about Essam's bribes.

Rasha tells Bahaa that Rania is right to defend her brother. Saber informs Rania that Ahmed was working with Essam, but Ahmed denies knowing that Essam was taking bribes. Saber turns his accomplices in. Maha informs Rania about her unregistered marriage to Essam.

Maha informs Rania that Essam had a secret safe and that he has been pulling away from her because he fell for Rania. Maha asks Rania for money in exchange for not turning the document proving her unregistered marriage in to the police. Salma informs Rania that she stole some documents from Essam's office.

Osman tries to prevent Maha from turning in the document for her unregistered marriage. Salah threatens Maha and gets the document from her. The attorney general receives the document in a letter. Saber confirms that Ahmed knew about the bribes and took some. Ahmed is sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Reem tells Bahaa that he was too hasty in condemning Ahmed, a sentiment that is echoed by Bahaa's father. Rania monitors Maha to find Salah. Karim tells Rania about his marriage to Sanaa. Yehia tells Rania that Essam had incriminating evidence on Salah.

When she finds her apartment ransacked, Nawal suspects that Salah is behind it. Salam comes clean about everything she knows. As everyone looks for Salah, he kidnaps Reem from school and demands the promissory note in exchange. Salah is arrested and accused of murdering Essam.

Following Salah's arrest, Ahmed gets acquitted. Yehia proposes to Eman. As Osman tries to get back together with Nawal, she pays all of Essam's debts. Ahmed confesses to stabbing Essam after he learned about his unregistered marriage to Maha. Rania turns Ahmed in to the police.
