Seeing how much Fawziya suffers with her three children, Ramzy tries to persuade Ref'aat to homeschool them. As Ref'aat goes to Fawziya's place to take up the responsibility of teaching them, he and Fawziya have a disagreement and he refuses to work for her.

Fawziya feels that Ref'aat is neglecting her children and not teaching them properly, but he clarifies that he has his own way of teaching. Atiya gets the children a new teacher in Ref'aat's stead, but they protest and devise a plan in opposition.

Fawziya accuses Ref'aat of kidnapping her children, but her accusations are proven wrong when she finds them hiding in the attic. As she acknowledges her mistakes, Fawziya decides to reconcile with Ref'aat and rehire him.

In hopes of getting closer to her children and Ref'aat, Fawziya goes on a trip to Al Qanatir Al Khayriyyah with them. As Farouk goes missing while on the trip, the family searches for him and reports his disappearance to the police.

Ramzy gets jealous when he learns that Ref'aat bought Fawziya's children gifts, and he does the same. Ramzy prompts Ref'aat to stay away from Fawziya in order not to drag her name through the mud. Feryal falls ill and undergoes surgery.

As Ramzy proposes to Fawziya, she rejects him and says she can't remarry with her ex-husband still alive. As Mervat, Ref'aat's ex-wife, makes an appearance, Ramzy tries to bring them back together. Ramzy defames Fawziya in a conversation with Ref'aat.

Ref'aat quarrels with Fayek before he learns he is Fawziya's ex-husband. Fayek tries to get his children back, while Fawziya recounts to Ref'aat how Fayek left her and their kids five years ago.

As Fayek shows up, Ref'aat stands by Fawziya and tells her children that their father is still alive. Fayek meets his children after a five-year absence and tells them he was amnesiac.

Fayek observes the exceptional relationship his kids have with Ref'aat, and he asks Fawziya to get back together but she refuses. Fayek suspects there might be something going on between Fawziya and Ref'aat.

Fayek urges Ref'aat to stick to his role as a teacher and stay away from Fawziya. Fawziya feels that Ref'aat is avoiding her, and the kids realize that their parents are separated.

Fawziya realizes that Fayek feigned illness just to stay in her house with the kids. With Azmy's help, Fayek gets full custody of his children, in a case that Fawziya knows nothing about.

As Fawziya learns that Fayek got full custody, it soon unfolds that he hired a woman to pose as Fawziya and receive the dates for the court sessions instead of her.

Ref'aat confesses his love for Fawziya. Meanwhile, Farouk and Feryal grow frightened when their father shows an inclination towards taking them forcefully. As Fayek's situation in the case gets worse, he blames it all on Ramzy.

As Fayek decides to make use of Ref'aat's proposal to Fawziya to weaken her stance and get full custody of his children, Ref'aat decides to sacrifice his love for the general good and help Fawziya get back to her ex-husband and stay with her children.
