Engineer Sami is late for work on account of quarrelling with the conductor and the bus driver, upon which his boss reprimands him for being late, whereas a suitor proposes to Sami’s mother.

Sami agrees to his mother’s engagement to Antar after she puts pressure on him. Saleh meets his friend Sami for the first time since school.

Sami rejects a bribe from his friend Saleh in exchange for agreeing to get him a license to build a workshop in a residential area. Saleh manages to get what he wants after he agrees with another employee in the department, whereupon he decides to take revenge on Sami.

As Sami discovers that his co-workers have agreed to get Saleh a license for his workshop, he quarrels with them and informs the manager, who has colluded with them and gives each of them only a one-day deduction, so Sami's colleagues decide to retaliate against him.

As Sami’s teacher applies to get an apartment after his children threw him out on the street, the manager rejects his application, blackmailing Sami to cooperate with them in return for his approval. Saleh hatches a plan to entrap Sami and throw him in prison.

The police arrest Sami on charges of bribery. Antar swindles Sami's mother out of a large sum of money. Safaa asks Sami for a divorce.

Sami decides to change, choosing to lie and fawn, then ingratiates himself with businessman Abul Fotouh El Helb, praising him in a newspaper article, so El Helb decides to hire him. Saleh proposes to Safaa.

As Sami brings Abul Fotouh El Helb closer to him, to gain his confidence, El Helb appoints Sami in a substantial position in his company as a publicity manager and makes him his number two guy.

Saleh marries Safaa and travels with her to France. Sad and tearful, Safaa returns to Egypt and tells her mother that Saleh took revenge on her, pouring scorn on her for being poor.

Abul Fotouh gets angry at his employee, Abdel Samea. Sami buys a sewing machine for his aunt, and a kiosk for his teacher. Saleh quarrels with his wife Safaa.

Abdel Samea tries to entrap Sami as he presents papers proving that Sami embezzled from the company's advertising money, whereupon Hoda saves Sami and acquits him in front of Abul Fotouh, after which Sami turns against Abdel Samea.

Abdel Samea presents papers to the public prosecutor’s office proving that businessman Abul Fotouh has tampered with the licenses and building materials of the towers he built, so Sami and Abul Fotouh think of a plan to get out of this fix.

Sami finds Antar and forces him to write him a check for the money that he swindled his mother out of. Sami tries to get close with Nashwa, Saleh's secretary, in order to obtain information from her to take revenge on him.

Sami devises a plan to entrap Antar, Maher, and the manager who instigated against him and threw him in prison. Indeed, Sami’s plan works out, and the police arrest the three red-handed in a bribery case.

Safaa seeks Sami’s help as her father gets arrest after her husband, Saleh, informed the police that he had robbed the warehouses. Sami hatches a plan with Nashwa to entrap Saleh, whom the police arrest for being responsible for spoiled food entering the country.
