At the end of each year, Gamil travels from Tanta to Cairo under the pretext of seeking treatment for his rheumatism, when in reality he is traveling to nightclubs away from his wife. However, he becomes embroiled in a marriage to Ahlam because of his friend Shawkat, who has had an unholy relationship with her.
