Abu Zayd helps his friends and neighbors and resolves their problems, but he faces financial crises with Abu Khadash. He decides to leave for the desert to live a better life, but Nora opposes him and informs the neighborhood.

The villagers believe Abu Zayd is possessed and summon the sorcerer Abu Marqa. Abu Zayd is detained, then rescued by the sheikh, and Nora finally agrees to his departure. However, he is accused of stealing sheep, imprisoned, and later released.

Abu Zayd arrives at the house of a woman of little beauty and flatters her to get food, but she deceives him and throws him into a well. He is rescued by Masoud and meets Qamar al-Zaman, the house owner, who takes a liking to him.

Qamar al-Zaman tells Abu Zayd that she wants him to kill her former husband to recover her stolen jewelry. He flees, encounters bandits who buy him as a slave, escapes, and returns to the village. Nora and her children rejoice at seeing him, despite his delay in paying the rent.

Abu Nasser sets out to find Abu Zayd and asks to travel with him to lands full of stories and humor to learn about life. They reach Ratban bin Hatlan and spend evenings together, sharing tales that teach the value of suffering.

Hatlan tells the story of Tafshal, who forgets where he left a sum of money entrusted to him and gets himself into trouble. Abu Zayd learns that a person must take responsibility for their actions. They return to the village, but Abu Zayd decides to leave again to work in trade.

Abu Zayd and Abu Nasser travel with goods to sell in the desert. They discover the difficulties of life there and the different food customs. They meet Zahra, who demands payment for food and warns them about the possibility of their money and goods being stolen, so they leave.

Abu Zayd and his companions meet Sheikh Atrous, who honors them and suggests that Abu Zayd marry a girl. He agrees, becomes fond of Sarah, and marries her, but she asks for a divorce after discovering his deception. He tries to escape with her to his village to live safely away from the tribe.

Abu Zayd consults Sarah’s father to plan their escape from the tribe. They face Atrous’s strict guards, but using cleverness, they succeed in escaping. A Abu Zayd returns to his village after a horrific dream about Sarah and Atrous and plans to leave again with Abu Nasser to explore a new place.

Nora becomes upset with Abu Zayd’s frequent travels and the accumulating house rent, while Abu Khadash keeps chasing her for payment. Abu Zayd and Abu Nasser visit Sheikh Hessal's village, where Abu Zayd receives activity and vitality advice. He returns to Nora and prepares for another voyage.

Abu Zayd arrives to Karmestan to entertain the king and solve his son’s problems. He meets the doctor, Abu Nafees, and cleverly treats the king’s son successfully. Meanwhile, Nora worries about him, and Abu Nasser is asking to check on him. Abu Zayd continues narrating stories to the king.

Abu Zayd continues narrating his stories to the king and begins the tale of Misbah, who helps the tribe solve a marriage problem. Misbah succeeds, earns a large sum of money, and starts his trade. Abu Zayd learns that Abu Nasser has been searching for him and regains trust in his close friend.

A problem arises with the person in charge of cupping in the village, who complains to Blouz that he took more money than usual. Abu Zayd tries to resolve the issue. Abu Zayd is absent for more than three years, and Nora considers selling the shop, but the children refuse.

Ghassan proposes marriage to Nora, and his sister informs her of her right to divorce due to Abu Zayd’s absence. Zayd decides to search for his father. Nora complains to the judge, who grants her a two-month period to investigate. Abu Nasser searches for Abu Zayd as Zayd and Amr fight.

Nora considers filing for divorce after Abu Zayd’s long absence. Abu Nasser discovers that Ghassan is plotting to kill Abu Zayd, so Abu Zayd and Abu Nasser rush back. Nora and her children celebrate his return, and Abu Zayd promises them he will never leave again after gathering money for them.
