A night at the movies turns into a disaster when Larry causes a misunderstanding with Cheryl's friend Nancy, while he also manages to upset the new girlfriend of his friend Richard Lewis.

When Larry and Cheryl go bowling with Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, chaos ensues when Larry loses his sneakers. When Larry goes shopping with Mary, Ted gets suspicious of him.

In a strange turn of events, Larry ends up having dinner with a porno star, as the party gets out of control. Jeff asks Larry to bring him his porno collection before his wife sees it.

After Larry has a fight with Cheryl, he decides to make it up to her by buying her a gift. But when he spots a bracelet that he wants to buy, he finds out that Richard Lewis wants to have it as well.

After a mishap causes him to miss his appointment with Diane Keaton, Cheryl finds out that the interior decorator that she hired also works for Diane Keaton. But she refuses to give him Diane's number.

When Cheryl urges Larry to fix the problem of the wire in the backyard, he finds himself forced to be nice to his neighbors or else he will suffer the consequences.

Larry finds himself in a dilemma after Jeff gives him his new 57 Chevy to take it for a drive, but he ends up hitting the car. He tries to get it fixed in time before Jeff finds out.

Larry faces an awkward situation after he's asked to write the obituary of Cheryl's aunt who passed away, as a typo lands him in trouble after it gets printed in the paper.

Cheryl faces a problem after Larry's actions make it hard for her to have a prescription filled, especially when he tells a bad joke in front of Richard Lewis' doctor.

After Larry's manager, Jeff, manages to get Cheryl a part in a movie, Larry ends up going with an ex to her incest-survivors group for moral support.
