After the customs pricing plan is leaked, the Minister of Finance decides to resign. Farida is shocked when she finds that her husband, the lawyer Kamal, is defending someone accused of espionage.
Farida fights with her husband over his case. Yusuf's relative, Ezra Shalom, asks to see Kamal, but the latter declines. Farida attends the birthday party of the daughter of her office manager, Gaber.
Farida's resignation is rejected and she remains in office. Ezra meets Kamal and hands him a cheque in exchange for his services to get his son out of prison.
Lamiaa trues to woo Kamal and get closer to him, which incites the jealousy of his assistant Nadia. Kamal quarrels with Farida over her help for her family.
Farida's friend, Souad, returns to Egypt with her daughter Sherwat. Kamal travels to Aswan for work. Farida fights with her neighbor, Helmy.
Kamal returns. The undersecretary Elwan is arrested for bribery. Kamal takes Farida out for dinner.
Farida has doubts about Kamal and Nadia's relationship. Souad asks her son Tamer to manage her businesses with her, which makes his sister Gigi get worried about their wealth.
Sherwat is worried about her mother marrying Khalid, and she tells Farida that she loves Medhat, but her mother might reject him.
Farida finds a diamond ring with a paid bill from her husband, in the name of Nadia.
Kamal tells Farida that the ring is a gift for Nadia's engagement to his assistant, Mamdouh, so Farida apologizes to him and their relationship improves.
Farida goes to court to testify against Elwan, and she is shocked to find that Kamal is defending him. Kamal accuses her of fabricating a charge for Elwan who has a health crisis and dies. Kamal meets Ezzat and receives a sum of money from him.
Farida leaves Kamal's home and visits her village in Upper Egypt and starts helping the people in the village. Yusuf's trial resumes with a new session.
Farida is shot by Zahran for his desire to take revenge on her family while she is away in the village.
Zahran is arrested. Kamal visits the village and brings Farida back with him to Cairo. Souad fights with Gigi because the latter wants to have the company.
Farida adopts the orphan child Mahmoud and takes him to live with her, while she continues to stand up to corruption.
Kamal quarrels with Farida after he accuses Mahmoud of ruining his documents, and he forces her to take him back to the orphanage. Souad tells her children that she wants to strike a partnership with Khalid.
A cabinet reshuffle takes place and Farida is removed from office and Khairy Monsef is appointed in her place, which makes her sad.
Souad throws a party and insults Medhat in front of everyone, which upsets Sherwat and she's surprised by Khalid's support for her. Farida tries to keep herself busy.
Sherwat goes to Farida for a few days, and she travels with her and Kamal to a coastal city. Khalid gets close to Souad and discovers a frightening side of her personality.
Sherwat discovers Kamal's lie about the date he purchased the villa. It becomes clear to Farida that Kamal lied about Nadia's engagement. Farida starts working in Souad's companies.
Khalid gets close with Sherwat. Farida discovers Souad's desire to evade taxes with her help. Farida becomes more and more mystified about Kamal's work.
Kamal decides to withdraw from the espionage case after confirming that the accused is guilty, and Ezra threatens him to return his money. Farida is surprised by Souad's commercial cooperation with one of her former enemies. Khalid and Sherwat develop feelings for each other.
Kamal says in a press interview that he has donated the fees of the case to the wounded Palestinians. Farida discovers Gigi’s exploitation of Souad’s money and Soaud's manipulation of the company's budget, which prompts her to resign.
Sherwat elopes with Khalid and they get married after traveling to Paris. Souad is heartbroken and Farida supports her. When the couple returns to Egypt, Khalid surprises Sherwat with the luxurious life that awaits them.

Farida receives a tape from an anonymous revealing Kamal's marriage to Nadia. Farida confronts him with this and asks him for a divorce, but he refuses.
Farida sends Kamal's belongings to his office, which infuriates him. Kamal, meanwhile, discovers that Nadia is pregnant with his baby.
Kamal has a sudden heart attack and decides to give up his fortune to Nadia. Farida's maid, Badryia, suggests that she move to a new place.

Nadia has an abortion and Kamal breaks down, while Farida reveals to him that he is sterile.
After Kamal confirms that he can't have kids, he confronts Nadia and finds that she was never pregnant. Farida becomes officially Mahmod's caretaker, and she is interrogated by the Public Funds Investigation Department.
Kamal defends Farida in the case of squandering the public money; he gets her acquitted, and they reconcile afterward.
