While looking for a place to spend the night, Noura's handbag gets stolen, but the thief eventually gives it back as Noura makes it to a motel. Youssef travels to Syria and asks a driver to bring him to Latakia. Noura looks for a job.
As he grows attached to her, the thief, Shakhtoura, decides to help Noura. Salwa grows worried after Youssef's departure. Shakhtoura fights off two men who attack him and bring up his father's murder of his sister. Noura asks a fisherman's wife to help her find a job.
Noura is haunted by nightmares. As Shakhtoura steals jewelry to sell, he keeps one piece to give to Noura. The fisherman's wife tells Noura that her son, Michel, drowned at sea. Youssef regrets accusing his driver of theft. Youssef's mother asks Salwa to run the company until he returns.
As Shakhtoura gives Noura the jewelry, she decides to leave the motel and move in with the fisherman and his wife. Youssef's mother is devastated when her son disappears under mysterious circumstances. Youssef reflects on Salwa's constant suspicions of him.
In the wake of his disappearance, Salwa insists that Youssef has another wife. Noura recounts her story to Umm El Meish, telling her of how her family died and her aunt kicked her out after seizing everything she owns. The police look for Shakhtoura.

Zaid El Sobky worries when Salwa asks to meet him. Abu El Meish apologizes to Youssef and asks him to take care of Noura. Shakhtoura thinks about taking revenge on Youssef after he gets engaged to Noura. Noura confesses to Youssef that she killed her manager when he tried to rape her.
As Youssef goes to Damascus to look for information on Radwan, whom Noura stabbed, he meets Nahed and learns that Radwan is alive. Salwa makes a deal with Zaid. As Youssef and Noura wed, Shakhtoura has a breakdown.
As Youssef teaches Noura to read and write, he decides to divorce Salwa when he returns to Egypt. When Abu El Meish dies, Noura and Umm El Meish break down. As Umm Youssef rebukes Salwa for neglecting her children in favor of her work, he asks her son not to divorce Salwa.
As Shakhtoura robs a safe in an apartment, Bahaa tells him about a guy who could smuggle him abroad for money. Youssef returns to Egypt and learns that his son's health has gone downhill and needs treatment in Italy. As the surgery is scheduled, they learn that it has a small chance of success.
After a successful surgery, Youssef's son is held under observation in the hospital. Shakhtoura flees to Italy by ship but gets robbed onboard. As Noura grows worried about Youssef's inexplicable absence, she learns that Youssef did not divorce his wife.
Noura breaks down and confides in Umm El Meish about Youssef's deception, prompting Umm El Meish to give her all his savings. As Umm El Meish dies, Noura mourns her. Youssef returns to Cairo with his son then decides to go to the Levant to meet Noura.
As Noura gets robbed in her hotel, she discovers that she is pregnant. As Youssef is unable to find Noura after he arrives in the Levant, Mounir tells Youssef that Noura found out that he is married. Noura goes to stay with her old friend, Nahed.
Bahaa writes Shakhtoura a letter. Nahed refuses to let Noura live on her own and informs Noura that Youssef gave her a lot of money. Noura looks for a job. The police arrest Bahaa for hiding Shakhtoura.
Thinking that he made it to Italy, Shakhtoura jumps into the sea, only to be arrested in Latakia. Youssef's mother asks Salwa to seek therapy. Youssef looks for Nahed in the workshop.
Hajj Mahmoud agrees to hire Noura at his workshop. When Salwa learns of Zaid's sudden departure, she fears that her deal with him was a hoax. Youssef loses all his money due to the fake deals that Salwa made. Noura passes out after she sees Radwan in the neighborhood.
Salwa takes a sudden trip to Syria behind everyone's back. As Radwan threatens Noura and tries to force her to sleep with him, Noura enlists Mounir's help. Mounir looks for Youssef to tell him about Noura's predicament.
As Youssef tries to save the company from ruin, he learns about Zaid's deal with Salwa that caused the problem. As Noura starts her new job, Mahmoud tells her that Youssef went back to Cairo with a woman. Youssef's mother forbids him from divorcing Salwa. Noura complains to Mahmoud about Radwan.
Anwar informs Salwa of Youssef and Noura's marriage. Hajj Mahmoud warns Radwan to stay away from Noura and Nahed. Mounir informs Youssef that Noura is living with Nahed in Syria. As Salwa confronts Youssef, the latter's mother passes out. Bahaa asks a relative to defend Shakhtoura.
Nahed is upset that her brother-in-law wants to seize the house. Youssef reports Anwar to the police after the company's safe gets robbed. The chief's wife asks Noura to sew her some clothes.
Noura sews clothes for Sabah and asks for a job for Nahed as well. The lawyer, Dalal, meets Shakhtoura. Salwa admits that Anwar is the one who robbed the safe. As Noura calls Youssef, he is unable to answer her. Youssef saves the dancer Shahy from her evil uncle at the nightclub.
Nahed's daughter, Soso, disappears while out with Noura. Youssef decides to sell the villa after he goes bankrupt. Shakhtoura gets released from prison. Mounir decides to send Youssef some money to help him out with his crisis. Noura refuses to wed Wadei and tells his mother, Sabah, that she is married.
Youssef rents a room for Shahy and tells her about Noura and what he went through. As Dalal falls for Shakhtoura, they get married. Nahed and Noura are forced to leave the house. Mahmoud suggests for Noura to go to Egypt as Youssef decides to travel to Syria.
Noura visits Youssef's mother and informs her that she is his pregnant wife, only for Youssef's mother to treat her coldly. Dalal passes away. Noura gives birth after she returns to the Levant. As the years pass, Noura's son, Jamal, grows up.
Jamal thinks about dropping out of med school, much to Noura's sadness. Kamal struggles to deal with the constant problems between his parents, Youssef and Salwa. Youssef fears that his daughter, Ragaa, has extreme religious views. Wadei becomes a famous actor. Youssef visits Shahy, whom he married.
As Noura rebukes Jamal for his actions, he apologizes to her. Noura asks the pharmacist Ghada to find Jamal a job, but Ghada's husband opposes Jamal's presence in the pharmacy. Shakhtoura visits Noura to check up on her.
As he grows jealous of Jamal, Hesham assaults Ghada, who asks for a divorce. Noura gets fired from her job. As Youssef's health goes downhill, the doctor advises having assisted care.
Shahy hides from Youssef after he abandons her. Jamal feels sorry for Ghada. Noura thinks of Youssef and wishes to see him. Kamal asks his father for a job at the company. Lama breaks down when Jamal rejects her feelings.
Shahy decides to return to her village. As Jamal rebels against Noura's attempt to control his life, he leaves for Egypt to look for his father. Laila's brother proposes to Youssef's daughter, Ragaa.
As Jamal locates his father, Kamal grows furious in the wake of Jamal's arrival. Salwa informs Youssef that she still loves him, even though he took another wife. Jamal and Youssef go to the Levant and meet Noura at Latakia, where Youssef asks her for forgiveness.
