Taher and his friends kill French soldiers and seize their money. The French army attacks the youth of the village and imposes fines on the villages surrounding the scene of the incident. Taher asks for Hala’s hand in marriage, while Wahib asks for Samiha’s, and the weddings take place.

Four prisoners who killed a French man escape and ask Taher for protection, so he honors them. Then Taher learns of their lies and that Abdulaziz hired them to kill him. Hala tells Taher that she is pregnant.

Amer tells Taher that Hajar has given birth to Ismail, but her condition is bad, and she is taken to the hospital. Abu Mahmoud, Hala’s grandfather, is paralyzed. The people of the village receive Hamed after his release from prison.

Horeya collapses after Taher's marriage to Shehla. Abu Khaled, the governor of the national government, asks Taher to protect the French forces in the village, but Taher refuses. Horeya forces people to sell their lands and cuts off the hand of anyone who refuses.

Taher sees someone leaving Shehla's house. Sadiq drowns Shehla in the sea, after which he confesses to Taher that he loved her and then commits suicide. Taher tells his men about his sadness over the failure of his project, then he dies and his men drop their weapons.
