As Laila struggles to deal with the stinginess of her husband Ehab, she informs her mother Fayza that she wants a divorce. When Ramzy tries to get close to Laila, she rebuffs him.

When Ehab discovers that Laila has been taking contraceptives, he assaults her, leading her to leave the house. Ehab divorces Laila after Ahmed kicks him out of the apartment. After her divorce, Laila struggles with her father's control of her.

As Rashid offers to supervise Laila's Master's degree and offers her a job once she gets it, Laila marries Mahmoud, who forces her to agree not to have children. As time passes, Laila asks for a divorce.

As Laila starts her new job in Rashid's hospital, she meets Omar, a patient whom she falls for. As Fayza tries to convince Laila to get back together with Mahmoud, Laila is shocked when Omar buys her gifts.

As Walid intensifies the electrotherapy sessions that he is giving Omar, Omar's condition deteriorates. Fayza promises Mahmoud that she will get Laila to go back home. Amgad threatens to kick George out when the latter opposes Amgad's wish to sell the factory.

As Laila asks for some time to consider Mahmoud's proposal to get back together, she apologizes to Omar for her absence from the hospital. Walid reveals to Sarah that he is plotting with Omar's brother to get rid of him so Amgad can have the inheritance to himself.

When Laila discovers that Omar has fallen for her, she informs him that she wants to keep her distance from him so as not to cause him to relapse. Rashid convinces Laila to use Omar's case for her thesis. Walid refuses to announce his marriage to Sarah.

Bassant rebuffs Walid when he tries to get close to her. Mahmoud listens to a recording from Omar telling Laila to stay away from Mahmoud. When Amgad and Bassant visit Omar, he kicks them out.

When Omar's doctor tries to remind him that his real name is Yassin and that he lost his son Adham in an accident, Omar is left shellshocked. Walid informs Laila that she has been taken off Omar's case. As Omar tries to escape, Salah helps to conceal him in a secret room in the hospital yard.

In a flashback, Amgad informs Omar's wife that Omar is mentally ill and helps her to travel with Adham; meanwhile, he admits his brother to a mental hospital and claims that Adham has died. In the present, Omar breaks out of the hospital and hides in Laila's house.

Amal helps Laila secure a residence for Omar. Sarah objects to Walid's wish to fire Salah from the hospital. Amgad refuses to listen to Bassant, who wants to sell all the family's companies.

Walid hides the news of Omar's escape from Amgad. Omar's presence in Amal and Sherif's house causes them to clash. In an attempt to get money, Walid threatens Bassant and Walid of exposing Omar's story.

When Omar proposes to Laila, she tries to avoid him, prompting him to leave the house; however, Laila manages to find Omar before going back to the hospital. Sherif's manager offers Omar a job as a TV anchor.

Fady tells Rashid about what happened to Yassin (Omar) at the hands of his brother and Walid. Laila confesses her love for Omar. Sarah takes revenge on Walid by torturing him to death.

As Rashid takes charge of Omar's treatment, Amgad comes clean to Omar about what he did to him, revealing that Adham is still alive. Omar gets his life back with Laila's help. The police arrest Sarah for Walid's murder.
