The series centers on Al Zeer Salem, a folk figure who started the Basus War after his brother Kulaib was killed and after a dispute with some members of the Banu Bakr tribe. This conflict arose after Kulaib devised a plan against the Yemeni Tubba, who sought to marry Jalila bint Murra, but Kulaib's intervention thwarted this plan.
