As Ihsan stalks Sumaya, he asks for her hand in marriage from Ibrahim who rejects him. But when Ihsan threatens to harm Ibrahim, Sumaya accepts to be engaged to him. When Ibrahim passes away, Sumaya decides to leave Ihsan and asks her uncle Mahmoud to meet her mother's family.

Sumaya arrives at the house of her uncle Sayed and informs him of the death of her parents. Sayed tells his brother, Anas, that Sumaya can't stay in his house for a long time. Sumaya wonders why Tarek keeps getting his father in trouble.

As Sumaya moves to the house of her uncle Anas, she notices how her cousin Rania treats her harshly, and that there is a big social difference between her and her cousins.

When Ihsan has a car accident, Sumaya goes to visit him at the hospital and she insists on breaking off their engagement. Sumaya meets Sayed's son, Wagih, in Alexandria and she admires him. Sumaya goes to stay at her uncle Sayed's after she quarrels with Doryia.

After Tarek tells Sherif that he saw his sweetheart with another man, Sherif accuses Tarek of assaulting the girl. Sumaya interferes to reconcile them. Sayed requests an advance payment from work as he's facing financial difficulties. Sayed's family finds out that Sherif fled the house.

Sherif discovers the truth about his sweetheart and reconciles with Tarek. He decides to rely on himself away from his father, and his mother, Hayat, leaves the house after a fight with Sayed. Sumaya asks Sayed to talk to Anas and her uncle Ali about her share in her late mother's inheritance.

Amina returns to her home while Sayed and Anas are away. Ali refuses to divide the land to return Amina's inheritance to Sumaya, and accuses her of forgery. Wagih returns from his travels to Sayed's house. Ihsan breaks into Sumaya's house to convince her to return to him, and she calls Sayed for help.

After she hits Ihsan, Sumaya is escorted to the police station and released as it was in self-defense. Ihsan is taken to the hospital and his family vows revenge. Sumaya returns with her uncle to Cairo, Sayed tries to persuade her to visit Ali but she requests to return to Anas's house.

Ghada finds out that Sumaya has feelings for Wagih. When Sahar's fiancé, Fady, tries to get close to Sumaya, Doryia and Sahar accuse her of having an affair with Fady. Sayed finds out that Sumaya helped Sherif get a job. Sumaya and Ghada grow closer.

Sumaya travels to Ali’s house, and he is happy to see her. Sherif tries to borrow money from Ali, but he declines to help him. Sumaya finds out that Ali is plotting to keep her in the house and force her to marry his son against her will.

Sayed's family is trying to save Sumaya from Ali's control. Sherif tells Hayat about his feelings for Sumaya and she asks him to be patient. Sherif and Wagih have a fight over Sherif's wish to marry Sumaya. Anas tries to fix the behavior of his family, after they've become spoiled.

Wagih travels to Ali's house and announces to him that Sumaya has previously agreed to marry him, and is able to return her to her uncle's house. Anas asks Sayed to marry his daughters to his sons in order to protect them.

Doryia has a breakdown after Anas hits her, and his daughters quarrel with him for not being as lenient as he used to be. After his former girlfriend contacts him, Wagih and Sumaya have a fight, and her uncle persuades him to be patient with her. Hayat falls ill.

Hayat is transferred to the hospital. Doryia leaves Anas's house with Sahar and Rania. Ihsan kidnaps Sumaya and tries to force her to marry him, but his plan fails after the police arrive and arrest him. Sumaya confesses her love for Wagih.

Sherif reveals to Tarek that he knows that someone is tampering with the drugs at the hospital where he works. Sumaya finds out that Ghada fabricates stories. Anas confides his problems at work to Sumaya.

Doryia fails to marry Fady to Sahar without Anas’s consent. Ali proposes to Anas and Sayed to divide their land. After feeling sad when Sumaya asked Wagih not to rush their marriage, she tells him that she wants him to be more ambitious.

Hayat returns home, and Sumaya and Ghada go to stay with her. Sumaya devises a secret plan to confront Fady.

Sayed refuses to cover up corruption at his work. Anas receives a scientific award. Sumaya claims that she has feelings for Fady, and he refuses to marry Sahar. Doryia reconciles with Anas and returns home. Sumaya finally agrees to marry Wagih.
