Kholoud is engaged to Suleiman, her cousin, and they are preparing for marriage. Munira asks her uncle Nasser to mediate with her mother, Moudi, to reside in her house.
Moudi agrees to have Munira stay with her on the condition that she pays half the rent. Kholoud asks Suleiman to set a date for the wedding, but he stumbles because of his father's extreme stinginess.
Kholoud tries to convince Suleiman to live in her mother’s house after marriage. Munira agrees with her neighbor to foretell the fortune of her co-workers in exchange for a portion of the money. Moudi's grandson tries to convince his grandmother to open a laundry business.
After Sharifa falls ill and is taken to the hospital, her siblings gather and try to expel her adopted son, Khaled, from the house.
Abu Suleiman (Suleiman's father) and Moudi file a police report against Khaled, accusing him of seizing their sister’s money, and after she recovers, they try to fix things with her.
Abu Suleiman insists that his son stay with him after his marriage so that he can seize his salary. Sharifa asks Khaled to buy a house in his name and complete his studies as she worries about what would her siblings do to him after her death. She also asks for Shahd’s hand in marriage for him.
Umm Shahd (Shahd's mother) refuses to let her daughter marry Khaled because he is an orphan, and Sharifa dies from grief.
Khaled receives condolences after his mother's death, then her siblings expel him from the house and seize the gold and money. Kholoud bargains with her uncle over living in her mother’s house after her marriage to Suleiman in exchange for her mother giving up her share in Sharifa’s inheritance.
Kholoud's mother refuses to give up her right to her sister Sharifa's inheritance, and forces her daughter to live in Abu Suleiman's house, and the latter discovers that Khaled has purchased an apartment.
Kholoud asks Suleiman to undergo a medical examination before marriage. Ibrahim stays at his sister Umm Kholoud’s house, and objects to Khaled visiting them.
As Suleiman and Kholoud's wedding takes place, Khaled attends the wedding, but Ibrahim and his brother expel him. Kholoud is forced to live in Abu Suleiman's house after the marriage.
As Suleiman insists that Kholoud not meet Khaled again, they quarrel and she leaves the house and goes to her mother.
Ibrahim and his brother submit a request to file a case against Khaled, accusing him of stealing their sister Sharifa’s money before her death. Suleiman’s brother leaves home and escapes from his father’s mistreatment.
Umm Suleiman continues to search for her son to no avail, while Kholoud asks Khaled to rent an apartment away from his father.

The police arrest Suleiman's brother on charges of drug trafficking, and Fadl treats Moudi badly and deprives her of medication.
Ibrahim's wife puts sleeping pills in his food so that he loses consciousness all the time. Suleiman quarrels with his father and blames him for what happened to his brother.
Khaled asks Nasser for help in paying the costs of Suleiman's brother's case. Munira's son discovers that Fadel sold the laundry shop behind her back.
Munira's son quarrels with Fadel and kicks him out of the house. Nasser and Umm Kholoud decide to file a lawsuit for fraud in the sale of Moudi's house.
Fadel tells Munira that he has transferred all the property and money over to himself, and divorces her. Ibrahim discovers that his wife has stolen his money, and Kholoud returns to Suleiman after he leaves his father.
