Two men carrying loads of gold ask Abbas Al-Daw and Salama Farawila to help them sell it. While Abbas refuses, Salama accepts and his life changes. Years pass and Salama hands out meat to the poor on the night of Ramadan.

Dr. Emam refused to take gifts from Salama. Abbas wants to keep his son Yusuf away from Salama's family, especially his daughter, Feryal.

Ebada goes to Salama to take back his money. Abbas tries to keep the truth from his kids, but he decides to tell his son, Munam.

Emam asks Yusuf to take to his father’s advice. Roqia wants Salama to help her divorce her husband Ali.

Samiha, Roqia's mother, is bothered by Salama's attempts to marry her. Fahmy Farawila refuses his wife's, Awatef, request to marry another woman to have kids. Salama takes Yusuf to the location of the gold, but he refuses to take any.

Amin wants Abbas to help him marry Samiha's daughter, Thuraya, while Abbas wants her to marry his son Yusuf. Yusuf tells his father that he loves Feryal.

Abbas tells Thuraya about Amin's wish to marry her, and she is surprised because she thought he was going to ask her to marry his son.

Alqas attacks Salama's properties and he gets arrested. Thuraya doesn't want to marry Amin. Salama wants to throw Roqia out of the house.

Salama asks his son Fahmy to marry another wife, but he declines. Farid Farawila goes to meet Alqas.

The dancer Lola offers to reconcile Farid with Yusuf. Yusuf tells Thuraya that Farid wants to marry her. Abbas refuses that Yusuf marry Feryal.

Salama makes Alsuht watch his son Farid, and finds that he goes to Lola's nightclub. Abbas tells Yusuf to leave the house after he proposed to Feryal. Lola asks Yusuf to help her find Farid.

Farid tells Yusuf to stay away from him and his sister Feryal. Abbas threatens Salama to expose the truth about his fortune if Yusuf marries Feryal. Abbas tells Yusuf that Salama's fortune came from the artifacts he stole.

Alqas kills Lola the dancer upon Salama's orders. Yusuf is accused of killing her after being at the crime scene; he denies killing her and refuses to give the names of the people who were there.

Alqas finds out that Ali works as a musician at the nightclub. Alqas feels guilty about his crime. Salama asks Alqas to confess his crime to the police, and Yusuf is released.

Abbas wants Yusuf to confess that he only went to Lola to keep her away from Farid. Yusuf proposes to Thuraya, and Feryal decides to take revenge on Yusuf.

Bisa asks her husband, Alqas, to confess that he hasn't committed the crime, but he declines. Awatef tries to help her husband, Fahmy, quit his drug addiction. Munam has his first child.

Thuraya fails her exams, and her sister blames Yusuf for distracting her. Salama wants to have an affair with Bisa while her husband is in jail. Farid and Yusuf are enrolled in military service.

Fahmy gets married but soon realizes that he made a mistake and he divorces. Awatef passes away. Munam asks Salama for his share in the money his father has left. Alsuht leaves the neighborhood.

Alsuht steals the artifacts and escapes. Yusuf is injured at the war of 1967 and asks Farid to leave him and marry Thuraya. Farid returns and tells everyone that Yusuf died.

A Bedouin woman and her father find Yusuf and save his life. She falls in love with him, but he wants to go back home. Farid is engaged to Thuraya.

Munam Al-Daw marries Fawzia Farawila. Yusuf prepares to return home, but he gets captured and tortured by the occupation army. Salama is paralyzed and admits that Abbas was right. Farid marries Thuraya, and Salama passes away.
