Karam drops out of school to work the land after his father falls ill, supporting his family. Events unfold, and Karam is forced to travel to work in the Alexandria port to continue his hardship. There, he meets Zein and moves to work with him in his woodworking workshop, becoming romantically involved with his daughter.
