When Laila complains about the problems she is facing and what she is putting up with in her marriage, her husband asks her why she hasn't left him. Mona talks to Sayed about their financial difficulties. Aida suffers because of her divorce.

Laila goes to stay with Aida after Khairy beats her. Aida puts Laila's name down for a job at Mahmoud's new university. Umm Sayed (Sayed's mother) asks Nadia to help her daughter and her friend enroll in Mahmoud's university.

Hanaa advises Nadia to get Umm Sayed's daughter to watch Perry at school. Mahmoud is not convinced that Laila is suited for the job, so Aida lies and tells him that she is related to a government official. Mahmoud calls Laila as she is about to return to Khairy.

Mahmoud agrees to hire Laila. Khairy threatens to have Laila imprisoned if she doesn't return to him. When Hanaa confronts Mahmoud about his negligence of prayer, he tells her that she is not giving him his rights as her husband.

Laila starts her new job as Mahmoud has a conference to announce the opening of his university. Mahmoud visits the student dorm where Laila works, ostensibly to observe her work, but it appears that he likes her.

Mahmoud asks Aida about Laila and she tells him that she wants to leave her husband. Khairy threatens to kill Laila if she doesn't come back. Mona and Fatma go home for the weekend and Sayed nearly beats Mona when she talks about how the apartment looks.

Laila admonishes Yasmina when she leaves the dorm without permission. Perry asks Laila to appoint a gym trainer. Aida sends some people to help Laila, including the social counselor, Amina.

When some girls stay out late, Laila only believes Fatma's story about why she was late and thinks the others are lying. Hanaa leaves the house after Mahmoud tries to install a bar in the house. Khairy beats Laila, but Mahmoud interferes and tells him to leave the dorm.

Laila tries to quit but Mahmoud refuses to let her. Fatma buys a lot of stuff from Ali because she loves him, but he asks her to set him up with Mona.

Mahmoud suspects Laila's origins after he sees how vulgar Khairy is, but Aida lies to him and covers for him. Unconvinced, he asks Tawfik to gather information about Laila. A group of girls confides in Laila about their love stories and the problems they are facing.

When the security men inform Laila that the students are smoking, she confronts and punishes them.

Laila tries to involve Mahmoud in the student's problem but he does not care. The students suggest that they do a fashion show and go with Laila to convince Mahmoud.

Amina tells Laila about the information she got about the students. Laila asks Salem to recommend a lawyer for her Khula (abdicative marriage) case. Hanaa tries to see her land. Rabab talks to Mahmoud about his problems with Hanaa.

When Mahmoud tries to get Perry to move in with him, Hanaa and Rabab, Perry starts to think that he reciprocates her love. Bahira and Yehia discuss the fact that they are not Alia's parents.

When Alia takes sedatives and loses consciousness, the doctor that Tawfik brings reveals that she tried to kill herself. It's revealed that Yehia has told her the truth about her paternity.

Hanaa meets Alia and Aida to discuss the fashion show. Mona returns the clothes that Ali brought because they're old-fashioned. Karim reproaches Laila for suing Khairy. Laila resigns after a quarrel with Mahmoud.

Rabab suspects that Mahmoud and Laila like each other. Mahmoud meets Laila to apologize for what he did. As they reconcile over dinner, Khairy sees them leaving the restaurant together.

Karima advises Khairy to divorce Laila. Mona refuses to marry Ali. Khairy tells Laila not to meet men in coffee shops while she is still married to him.

Sayed tells Fatma that he loves her. Mahmoud returns home to have lunch with Hanaa and his daughter when he learns that Laila is at his house. They talk about Perry and how she might be in love.

Ali tells Mona that he wants to marry her but she refuses. Mahmoud asks Laila to report to him twice a week. Aida tells Laila that Mahmoud went home to see her.

Hanaa suspects Mahmoud after he calls her Laila. Umm Sayed questions her son about the money he has. Mahmoud confesses his love for Laila as Hanaa comes in.

Hanaa doesn't notice that Mahmoud was holding Laila's hand but she suspects that something is wrong when Laila leaves quickly. Aida tells Khairy that Laila will not go through with the Khula case. Laila learns that Amina is taking money from the students. Sayed buys an apartment.

When Sayed sees Mona getting out of a guy's car, he is quick to tell her mother. Khairy learns that Laila didn't ask Aida to speak to him on her behalf. Perry is angry when she learns that Ramy is getting engaged.

Amina steals the letter and gives it to Perry. Laila confronts Amina about the stuff that went missing from her room. Hanaa tells Laila that she suspects that Mahmoud is in love with a student. Ali questions Fatma about her love for him.

Mona's boyfriend proposes to her. Mahmoud starts to get close to Laila. Omar asks Aida to get back together with him.

Laila starts to fall for Mahmoud. Fatma confronts Ali about his feelings for Mona as Mona tells Sayed that Fatma is in love with Ali. Hanaa tells Mahmoud that their relationship is broken and he doesn't know how to fix it.

Khairy agrees to hire Ra'ouf as a pianist in his restaurant. Karim returns from his trip. Mona calls Ali in front of Fatma. When Ali answers, Fatma confronts him and he promises to go to her house to ask for her hand.

Karim is torn between his parents and decides to travel again. Mahmoud attends the fashion show and takes Laila out afterward. Rabab films their outing.

Aida goes out with Omar. Hanaa confronts Laila after she sees her picture with Mahmoud on Rabab's phone, but Laila assures her that their relationship is strictly professional. Hanaa confronts Mahmoud with his picture with a girl at a disco.

Khairy meets Jihan at the restaurant. Fatma tells Ali that he doesn't love her. Laila asks Khairy for a divorce. Mahmoud stops drinking. Perry gets drunk and talks to Mahmoud about his feelings for Laila.

Perry reads Laila's diaries. Mahmoud gets Salem to offer Khairy money to divorce Laila. Mona agrees to marry Tarek. Hanaa confronts Mahmoud during a press conference and questions him on how he treats his family.

Mahmoud divorces Hanaa. Mai is upset when Khairy tells her that he met Jihan. Laila yells at the students and Amina when she finds the sentence "he doesn't love you" written in her diary.

Laila tries to console Mahmoud who tries to kiss her but she stops him. Khairy admonishes Laila for getting her lawyer to call him.

When Rabab sees Mahmoud whispering in Laila's ear, she asks him if Laila is the reason he divorced Hanaa. Khairy asks for a million pounds to divorce Laila. When Laila calls Mahmoud, Perry answers the phone and indirectly tells her that Mahmoud is involved with many women, herself included.

Laila is furious when she learns that Mahmoud had Salem offer Khairy money to divorce her. Ziad confesses to Alia that he loves her and that an older woman has been exploiting him sexually for money.

Laila is upset with how everyone is looking at her during Aida and Omar's wedding. Mahmoud confesses his love for Laila.

Hanaa tells Mahmoud that she beat Rabab because she let a guy hold her hand. Mona meets Tarek's friend, Gamal. Sayed asks Fatma to visit his mother.

Mona learns that Tarek is only a waiter and that he lied to her. Tawfik tells Laila that she is the reason Hanaa got divorced. Khairy asks to meet Mahmoud before he divorces Laila.

Khairy confronts Laila with her photos with Mahmoud and asks to sleep with her in exchange for divorcing her. Someone sneaks into Ahlam's room and tries to strangle her. Perry tells Laila that Mahmoud has confessed his love for her.

It's revealed that Ahlam was having a nightmare. Hoda sees Yasmina sitting with her husband at a coffee shop. Sayed assaults Fatma when she goes to visit Umm Sayed.

Fatma convinces Sayed not to rape her. Mona refuses to see her mother. Khairy warns Mahmoud about Laila. When Laila learns that Perry is at Mahmoud's house, she tells Khairy that she agrees to his request.

Khairy sets a date for Laila to meet him and tells Mahmoud that he and Laila sleep together every once in a while. He tells him that Laila is going to visit him soon and invites Mahmoud to come over and see for himself.

Mahmoud evades Laila's calls. Laila pretends to be sick and tells Mahmoud that she is not going out but he sees her going to Khairy's place. Laila is shocked to see Mahmoud as she tries to leave Khairy.

Khairy divorces Laila after he successfully gets Mahmoud to leave her. Mahmoud fires Aida and Laila and tears Laila's letter up. Hanaa takes off her niqab and starts talking to Mahmoud again.

The students beg Mahmoud to let Laila stay. As Ahlam dies after getting shot, Yasmina and the girls are devastated and Mahmoud asks Laila to stay with them. Laila goes to Mahmoud's yacht and he tells her that he loves her.
