As Ahmed returns from his trip, his mother tries to convince him to marry his cousin, but he wants to marry Sharifa. His father encourages him, but their failure to have children quickly causes his mother to interfere in their lives and put pressure on his wife.

Things become tense between Ahmed and Sharifa due to not having children, and the latter insists on him taking another wife or divorcing her.

The doctor tells Sharifa that there is a cure for her condition in London, so the couple prepares to travel. Sharifa returns after a while to her country, having given birth to a daughter and being pregnant with another.
