Lawyer Ahlam leaves Mansoura after her divorce, returning to her hometown of Bab al-Metwalli, one of the gates of ancient Cairo. She finds herself having to look after her property in this area after discovering that it was being stolen by her cousin, and she is forced to engage in intense conflicts to preserve her rights.
