After the martyrdom of Imam Husayn ibn Ali in the Battle of Karbala on Muharram 10, 61 AH, his sister, Lady Zaynab, and his son, Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin, along with the women and children from the family of the Prophet who were not killed in the battle, go on a sad procession to Ibn Ziyad’s palace in Kufa and from there to Yazid's palace in the Levant on a difficult journey.
