Wa'el prints a new book of poems and gifts it to his wife Wafaa. As he gives his cousin Elham a copy, her mother recalls what he did to her daughter. Ehsan quarrels with his wife Elham when he sees Wa'el's poem and asks her to resign from the newspaper.

Wafaa's father asks her to fix her relationship with her mother-in-law. Nizar recalls his former sweetheart Wafaa after he sees Wa'el's book of poems. An admirer called Sanaa calls Wa'el's house, which angers Wafaa. Wa'el wants to have kids with Wafaa. Wa'el meets Nesrine in Raga'ey's studio.

Wafaa doesn't want to have kids, as she doesn't want the restrictions that a child will bring. When Wa'el complains to Wafaa's father, her father asks him to understand the reasons for the problem to solve it. Wa'el apologizes to Nagib after he loses his temper at the cafe.

Wa'el's sister, Somaya, returns from Paris and learns of her mother's conflict with Wafaa. Elham tells Somaya that Ehsan is cruel to her due to her past relationship with Wa'el. Ehsan asks his mother to find him a bride. Somaya tells her mother that she and her husband have gone through hard times.

Raga'ey falls for Nesrine. Wafaa invites her mother-in-law and Somaya to lunch. Safaa invites Wafaa and Wa'el to dinner, but Wa'el refuses the invitation. Somaya asks for her share of the inheritance which was seized by Wa'el.

Malak tries to monitor Wahid. Mohanad's mother shows him pictures of some girls to pick a bride, but he refuses. When Wa'el travels to Latakia, Somaya grows angry since he didn't speak to her about the inheritance. Maya goes to Omran's house.

When Nizar publishes an article against Wa'el, Ehsan objects to it and clashes with Nizar. Raga'ey falls deeper for Nesrine. As Nizar recalls his relationship with Wafaa, the latter gets angry and asks him to stay away from her. Somaya asks Wa'el for her inheritance again.

As Mohanad gets drunk, he ends up slapping Wahid because of his relationship with Ghenwa. Wa'el is scheduled to travel to Paris. Nizar sees Wa'el sitting with Nesrine. Wa'el's mother is thrilled when Wafaa gets pregnant. Wafaa and Wa'el get in a terrible accident.

Rumors abound about the accident and Wa'el's condition. Wahid asks for Wa'el's medical chart and consults a doctor in the US about his condition. Nizar learns that Wa'el is in a coma. Wafaa wakes up in the hospital and breaks down when she learns of Wa'el's condition.

Wahid's friend in the US tries to find a way to treat Wa'el abroad. Wafaa is released from the hospital. Nesrine asks after Wa'el. Wafaa is devastated when her mother-in-law blames her for the accident. Wa'el wakes up but discovers that he has gone blind.

Wa'el is released from the hospital. Wahid considers selling his car. Wa'el is furious when Nizar visits him. As Raga'ey goes to see Wa'el, the latter runs away from the cafe and wanders off.

Wafaa considers having an abortion. Wahid reports Wa'el missing. As Wa'el arrives at a mosque, he meets Master Mamdouh and goes home with him. Nesrine blames Raga'ey for Wa'el's disappearance. Wa'el travels to Aleppo with Mamdouh.

Wa'el calls Samasem, whom he met on the bus to Aleppo. Abu Shehab tries to reconcile Adnan and his wife. As Wafaa's psychological state deteriorates, her mother asks her father not to be tough on her. Wafaa tells her father that she is considering abortion. Wa'el returns to his mother's house.

Wafaa promises to support Wa'el after he returns home. Wahid learns that Wa'el went to Aleppo. The man who caused Wa'el's accident tries to contact his mother but she kicks him out. As Wa'el invites Mamdouh to lunch, Wafaa reflects on the low social class of Wa'el's guests.

Wahid warns Wa'el about leaving his money with Wafaa. When Ja'far, the man who caused the accident, offers to compensate Wa'el, Wahid asks for a million pounds. Wa'el's mother tells Nesrine that she hates Wafaa because she is selfish and only cares about her own benefit. Nesrine visits Wa'el.

Wa'el goes to the newspaper to get his salary. Mohanad's mother thinks that he is possessed and takes him to a charlatan. Omran tells Nesrine that their love story is over. Nesrine injures her hand after she storms out. Nesrine goes to Raga'ey.

Mohanad's psychological state worsens after Hend disappears. Wafaa is angry that Wa'el is staying with his mother. As Wafaa goes into labor, Wa'el and his mother rush to her side. Wafaa has a boy. Ehsan beats Elham, who asks for a divorce. Wafaa refuses to have her mother-in-law stay in her house.

As Wa'el and Mamdouh go to check on the former's mother, they find her dead. The devastated Somaya returns from Paris. Raga'ey tells Kawthar about the death of Wa'el's mother. Wafaa refuses to accept blame for the death of her mother-in-law.

Elham is unable to decide between getting a divorce or staying for her daughter's sake. Somaya sells the apartment after her mother's death. Wa'el attends an exhibition for Nesrine's paintings. Wa'el is surprised to learn that Wafaa sold his paintings. Wafaa asks for a divorce.

Wahid visits Wafaa to inform her that Wa'el refuses to divorce her. Wa'el changes the door lock. Wahid picks a bride for Mohanad, but the latter avoids him. As Wa'el visits Nesrine to tell her about Wafaa, Nesrine tells him that Omran is going to wed another girl. Ehsan apologizes to Elham.

When Wa'el kidnaps his son Hasaan from Wafaa's house, Wafaa accuses Wa'el and Wahid of kidnapping him. Wa'el rents an apartment near Nsrine and asks the neighbors to help him raise his son. Wahid searches for Wa'el. Elham and Ehsan reconcile.

Mohanad tells Wahid that he proposed to Hend. Mamdouh visits Wa'el at his new apartment. Wafaa refuses to go back to Wa'el since he has become weak. Nesrine saves Wa'el after he tries to kill himself. Wafaa goes to pick up Hasaan. Wafaa's father is upset that she has abandoned Wa'el.

Mamdouh is saddened when a guy at the cafe bullies him because he is blind. Hend and Mohanad get engaged. Wa'el recalls his memories with Wafaa. Nesrine decides to move on from Omran. Mohanad's mother accuses Hend of being after his money. When Hend leaves, Mohanad breaks down and searches for her.

Hend refuses to go back to Mohanad but doesn't tell him why. Mariam wants to pursue a relationship with Wa'el. Mohanad learns that his mother insulted Hend. Magd proposes to Nesrine. Mohanad has a breakdown. Wa'el divorces Wafaa.

Wafaa receives Wa'el coldly when he goes to see Hasaan. Raga'ey visits Ehsan and Elham and asks the latter to see Kawthar. Nesrine tells Raga'ey that he is just a friend. Wafaa meets Nazir. Hend comes back to Mohanad. Wahid finds a new house for Wa'el.

Wa'el tries to resume his work at the newspaper. Wafaa visits Nazir at his office, but he ignores her, and she grows to suspect that he doesn't want a serious relationship. Mohanad and Hend get married. As Wafaa neglects him, Hassan gets injured in the head. Wa'el finds out and takes him with him.

Wafaa asks Wa'el to stay friends. Kawthar refuses to have a relationship with Raga'ey and tells him that he no longer means anything to her. Omran regrets leaving Nesrine as his relationship with Maya grows burdensome. Wa'el and Mamdouh reconcile Adnan and his wife.

Mariam apologizes to Wa'el for being late. Wafaa's father cuts ties with her due to her treatment of Wa'el. Wafaa senses that Nazir is playing her. Wa'el thinks that Mariam is too similar to Wafaa. Wa'el finishes writing a new poem, Shadow of a Woman, and dedicates it to Nesrine.
