During the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday in Aleppo, Abu Al Kaif finds himself in trouble after the police raid his house, the drugs he had hidden in the well disappear, and he quarrels with Abu Khalil Al Halawani for forgetting to send sweets to his house.
Saleh advises his brother Bakri to reconcile with his wife and allow her to visit her family, but Bakri insists that women going out is against religion, and he divorces his wife in front of her father.
The dispute between Saleh and Bakri escalates due to their different opinions. As Bakri prevents Safia from listening to songs, Safia's father, Saleh, encourages her to read, but Bakri believes that books corrupt the mind.
The butcher, Abu Al Rous, seizes the sheep at the auction, which angers Abu Samra, who decides to take revenge on him. Abu Ibrahim dies after he instructs his son to spend the money on acquiring knowledge.
Abu Al Kaif beats his sister Radia when he sees her with Ismail and throws him out of the house. As Abu Al Rous’s men quarrel with Abu Samra’s men about the auction, Abu Hassan’s widow complains that Bakri has only given her a small amount of her shop’s income.
Bakri is saddened after being accused of stealing the orphans’ money and oppressing them, which affects his reputation. Abu Al Rous is injured during a quarrel between him and Abu Samra, and Ibrahim is forced to leave the house because of a mortgage that was not paid before his father’s death.
The government decides to provide the neighborhood with fresh water instead of salty water, and the mayor prepares to celebrate this occasion. Ibrahim asks Saleh to teach him to be a scholar, based on his father’s will.
As Saleh helps Ibrahim find a job and a place to live, Ibrahim likes Safia, and Abu Al Kaif is impressed by a teacher and wants to marry her, but she rejects him because they are not compatible.
As Safia meets Radia, Abu Al Kaif’s friend tries to convince him to quit drug dealing and focus on the spice trade, but he refuses the advice and hands Amouri a shipment of drugs to distribute.
The police arrest Amouri while distributing drugs, and despite the pressure from the police, he does not confess on Abu Al Kaif. The neighborhood celebration and the people’s joy at the arrival of fresh water continue.
Abu Al Rous holds a party for the neighborhood’s elders and is happy that Abu Samra is in the hospital. Secret meetings bring Ibrahim and Safia together, and a love story begins between them.
The police accuse Abu Al Rous of inciting the killing of Abu Samra, but he denies the charge, confirming that he was busy that day with the party. Abu Al Omrain confesses to trying to kill Abu Samra, who turns out to be a dangerous gang leader.
As Abu Al Omrain is imprisoned, Safia tells Ibrahim about his cousin Samia’s visit, who assures her that she loves him like a brother. The police arrest Abu Al Kaif immediately after he buys drugs, and Abu Al Rous surprises his two wives by asking them to look for a new bride for him.
Abu Al Rous asks for Radia’s hand in marriage from her brother Abu Al Kaif in prison, and Radia is shocked by the idea of abandoning her love for her cousin Ismail and marrying Abu Al Rous. Moreover, the family home and shop are mortgaged to Abu Al Rous.
Iftikhar and Shukriya go to formally propose to Radia on Abu Al Rous's behalf, and Radia complains to her friend Safia that she has agreed to marry Abu Al Rous under duress to save her family from ruin.
Radia has a nightmare of someone strangling her to death, and Ismail quarrels with Abu Al Rous for Radia.
Abu Al Rous is happy that his two wives bought gold and cloth for the bride, and Ismail gets angry and thinks about kidnapping Radia and marrying her. Abu Al Rous agrees with the lawyer to get Abu Al Kaif out of prison after he marries his sister.
Radia refuses to run away with Ismail for the sake of her brother's reputation, and Ismail threatens to kill Abu Al Rous if he marries her. Ibrahim advises him to go to Saleh to convince Abu Al Rous to leave Radia.
Bakri asks his brother to expel Ibrahim based on Abu Al Rous’s request because Ibrahim hit Abdullah. However, Ibrahim tells Saleh that he hit Abdullah while defending Radia.
Abu Al Rous incites Abdullah to beat Ismail, and then Abu Al Rous reports to the police station about Ismail beating Abdullah. Abu Al Rous writes a report against him in agreement with the police station chief, who orders his arrest.
Abdullah confesses to beating Ismail, who is in the hospital in critical condition, and Abu Al Kaif asks his mother to hurry up and marry Radia so that Abu Al Rous can get him out of prison. Still, she reproaches him for selling his sister.
Abdullah and Ismail leave the hospital in a festive atmosphere after Abu Al Rous’s marriage to Radia. Shukriya and Iftikhar set off to bring the bride to complete the wedding ceremony.
Ismail decides to travel abroad because of Radia’s marriage, and Abu Al Omrain and Abu Al Rous are released from prison.
Shukriya tells Abu Al Rous that Radia is pregnant, however, Radia is sad and Abu Al Rous warns her against abortion. On the other hand, Abdullah leaves work at Abu Al Rous’ butcher shop.
Abdullah decides to get married and Saleh encourages him to propose to Sumaya, but her father rejects him because of his poverty. Abu Al Rous tells Bakri about his niece’s meetings with Ibrahim on the roof.
As Abu Al Rous nominates himself for the parliamentary elections, Bakri beats up Ibrahim and Safia during their meeting on the roof and tells Saleh about their relationship.
Abu Al Rous and Bakri complain to the police about Ibrahim’s harassment of Safia, who reprimands Bakri for his suspicion and bad opinion of her.
While Abu Al Rous is busy with the elections, Radia dies after giving birth, and Iftikhar leaves the house and asks Abu Al Rous for a divorce.
Umm Radia dies of grief over her daughter, and Abu Al Rous is angry that Saleh prefers to marry his daughter Safia to Ibrahim instead of him. On the other hand, Bakri falsely testifies about Safia’s reputation, and Saleh promises to kill her.
As Abu Al Rous and Abu Al Kaif agree to plant drugs on Ibrahim to trap him, Safia and Ibrahim get married, and Abu Al Rous causes their deaths. Moreover, Abu Al Rous dies.
