Madiha takes care of her mentally ill brother, Hazem, after her father’s death. Madiha receives a visit from Bahaa, who requests that she return the money he paid to partner up with her father before he died.
Madiha tells Nagati about Bahaa’s threat to her and her suspicions that he is deceiving her. On the other hand, Zuhdi gets his young children to beg and sell in the streets, and his wife works as a maid in Madiha’s house.
Zuhdi gets close to his cousin Shahnaz after her divorce and thinks about marrying her, despite knowing that his wife, Karima, is pregnant again. Nagati borrows a large sum of money from Madiha under the pretext of paying off his debts before getting imprisoned.
After Zuhdi's youngest daughter gets into a car accident, he attempts to financially exploit Rashad, the car's owner, and he proposes to marry Shahnaz. On the other hand, Nagati's deception of Madiha and his previous acquaintance with Bahaa become clear.
Shahnaz financially exhausts Zuhdi and asks him that they travel abroad to spend their honeymoon after their marriage. His youngest daughter becomes blind, and Madiha's situation deteriorates due to her brother Hazem causing several problems.
Madiha tells Karima that her husband, Zuhdi, is trying to steal from her and that he is in a relationship with another woman. Nagati suggests to Madiha that she get Maysa, Karima’s daughter, engaged to her brother Hazem to help her take care of him.
Madiha confronts Zuhdi about his relationship with a woman other than his wife and forces him to agree to let Maysa work in her house. Nagati tells Bahaa that he will not abandon Madiha and that he loves her.
Maysa tries to convince her brother Muhammad to return home. Karima learns that Rashad has compensated her husband for her daughter's accident, and that she did not undergo surgery to restore her sight.
Madiha suggests to Maysa to marry Hazem, but Karima refuses. Muhammad takes his mother to stay with him at home after Zuhdi kicks her out, and Zuhdi marries Shahnaz.
Zuhdi forces his daughter to marry Hazem, and Bahaa tries to convince Nagati to exploit Madiha, deceive her, and seize her money.
Madiha refuses to marry for fear of giving birth to a child like her brother Hazem. Bahaa’s threats against her continue. Karima falls ill and Rashad takes her to the hospital and takes care of the expenses.
Rashad decides to employ Muhammad in his company. Nagati tries to rob Madiha’s safe and pins the blame on Zuhdi. Madiha agrees to marry Nagati.
Shahnaz quarrels with Zuhdi for not fulfilling her requests. After Nagati and Madiha marry, Madiha is consumed by an illusion, leading her to believe she is suffering from a psychological illness.
Zuhdi tries to extort money from Rashad again, but the latter refuses. Hazem informs Maysa that Nagati is torturing him and that he will kill Madiha, and the latter imagines the presence of ghosts in the house.
Nagati beats Hazem and admits him to a psychiatric hospital. Maysa tries to draw Madiha’s attention to what is happening to her brother, but Nagati controls Madiha’s actions by putting drugs in her drinks.
Shahnaz quarrels with Zuhdi and he divorces her. She gets custody of her daughter and kicks him out of the apartment. Zuhdi reports to the police what Nagati did to Madiha. Hazem is released from the hospital. Karima’s daughter regains her sight and Zuhdi returns to his family.
