Following the destruction of his home planet by a blackhole, the 8-day-old alien genius Megamind (Will Ferrell) arrives on Earth. However Megamind does not find much affection among the citizens of Earth and grows up to become quite a bitter individual. In particular Megamind is envious of the attention and praise that is showered on Metro Man (Brad Pitt) who repeatedly saves Metro City.
