The life story of international blues musician Ray Charles, who is considered to be a global music sensation. The film shows his life since childhood, where he went blind at the age of seven. He eventually learns to play the piano and sing, becoming one of the top rated musicians of the fifties and the sixties. His marital issues are highlighted, in addition to his struggle with addiction.
