It follows a young woman from a poor neighborhood, who gets a job in a high-fashion magazine. When she is hired in a sensitive position at work, she soon discovers that the owner of the magazine chose her because of her unattractiveness to protect his womanizing son.
In the fourth and final season, Betty receives a promotion, which puts her at odds with her boss. However, the lives of Betty, her friends, and those close to her undergo many positive changes and transformations.
