Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.) is expecting the birth of his first baby in 5 days. On his way home from Atlanta, he loses his wallet and therefore is not allowed to board the plane. In order not to miss the birth of his son, he must accept a ride cross country with Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis). Chaos ensues as the two men with nothing in common drive each other crazy.
