Sultan divorces his wife Suhaila and refuses to take care of their children. She stays with her uncle whose wife treats her badly. Her cousin, Yacoub, returns from traveling and asks his father for Suhaila's hand.
Yacoub's mother opposes his marriage to Suhaila but he goes through with it anyway. Yacoub and Suhaila have a son, Youssef. Suhaila's ex-husband is arrested and his money is seized due to his illegal business transactions.
As Suhaila's children grow up, their father is released. Suhaila and her husband get in an accident that leaves Yacoub dead. As Yacoub's father breaks down and gets transferred to the hospital, his mother continues to refuse to acknowledge her grandchildren.
Umm Adel (Adel's mother) opposes her son's marriage to Dalal. Khaled continues to defraud people in his business despite his wife's warnings. Ghanima refuses to give Khaled his half-siblings' inheritance. Fire breaks out at Khaled's house.
Dalal tries to convince Na'ima to take care of her grandchildren but she refuses. Umm Adel asks for Farah's hand for Adel. Khaled's wife refuses to allow his younger siblings to stay in their house or to look after them.
Adel weds Farah. When Na'ima decides to look after her grandchildren, her nephew opposes her and decides to rob her. Adel returns from his honeymoon but he remains hung up on his first love.
Sultan asks his daughter Dalal to make him a partner in her atelier but she refuses. Farah makes fun of her friend, Dalal, after she confirms that Adel is still in love with her. Na'ima asks Khaled to bring her grandchildren to live with her.
When Umm Adel learns that her son is going to wed Dalal, she prevents him from going to her. Dalal suffers from a nervous breakdown and decides to sell the atelier. As Sultan returns to his old swindling ways, his son Khaled is asked to repay the money.
Khaled asks Dalal to give him a part of his younger siblings' inheritance. When she refuses, he sues her for their custody. Farah gives birth and travels with her husband Adel. Dalal gets engaged to one of Ghanima's relatives.
Na'ima goes blind. Dalal's fiancé, Hamad, dies in an accident. As Na'ima's grandchildren grow up, Youssef becomes a lawyer and Mona becomes an actress. Farah and Umm Adel clash.
Na'ima gets Alzheimer's disease. Mona falls for Sa'oud. Farah asks Adel to leave his mother's house and get one of their own. Adel remembers Dalal and regrets leaving her.
When Dalal runs into Adel at Mona's show, she discovers that Farah is the professor overseeing Mona's education. Sultan reappears but Khaled refuses to look after him. Dalal is upset with Khaled for his refusal to care for Sultan.
Dalal tells Mona that Sa'oud must propose to her. Sa'oud's mother reprimands her son for wanting to wed Mona for her money. Adel tries to get close to Dalal but she rejects him. Dalal discovers that Sultan has a daughter called Noura who is her half-sister.
As Mona weds Sa'oud, he starts to take advantage of her. Umm Adel and Farah continue to clash. Na'ima dies.
Khaled decides to sell Na'ima's house and asks Youssef and Dalal to leave the house. As Farah learns that Dalal is Mona's older sister, she suspects that Dalal and Adel have started seeing each other again. Khaled decides to sue Dalal and Youssef.
When Mona refuses to write the villa over to Sa'oud, he prevents her from finishing her education and beats her. Mona asks for a divorce after she is transferred to the hospital. Dalal convinces her to reconsider and reconcile with Sa'oud, only for him to start taking advantage of her again.
Dalal finds a procuration from Na'ima, which means that Khaled has no right to the inheritance. Khaled's wife discovers that he implicated her in forgery to get all the inheritance. Youssef gets engaged to one of his clients. Sa'oud cheats on Mona and mistreats her.
Khaled is sentenced to prison in the case of one of his clients but he escapes the sentence. Sa'oud weds another woman and tries to take advantage of her but she teaches him a lesson. Khaled asks Mona to lend him money without telling anyone.
Sa'oud's wife kicks him out of the house. Youssef is upset with his wife for her attitude with her male colleagues. Mona starts a relationship with an older guy.
Dalal opens an atelier. Farah suspects that Dalal and Adel are seeing each other. Dalal is upset with Mona for her relationship and tells her that her sweetheart must propose to her.
Despite Dalal's opposition, Mona insists on wedding the older guy, and Khaled helps her. Farah confirms that Adel is having an affair.
When Youssef meets his former sweetheart Salwa, his wife gets upset. Fahd's first wife threatens Dalal to get Mona away from her husband. As Mona gets divorced, Sa'oud tries to win her back. Farah gets the phone number of Adel's new sweetheart.
Youssef's wife asks Khaled about Youssef and Salwa's relationship. Farah discovers that Adel is involved with one of her students. Sa'oud decides to divorce his wife so that he could wed Mona.
Adel discovers that the girl he has been talking to is Mona. When Youssef needs a kidney transplant, Dalal donates her kidney. Mona tells Adel that she started talking to him to get him away from Dalal, but Adel has fallen in love with Mona.
When Youssef refuses to let his wife travel abroad, his wife enlists Dalal's help to convince him. Adel promises to ask Khaled for Mona's hand.
Adel tells his mother that he wants to wed Dalal's younger sister. Mona leaves the house behind Dalal's back and weds Adel. Farah insists on getting a divorce.
Adel divorces Farah on Mona's request. Sa'oud asks his mother to help him win Mona back. Farah grows close to one of her colleagues.
As Mona falls pregnant, Adel grows upset when he learns that Farah has gotten engaged to her colleague, Mohamed. Mona asks Sa'oud not to call her again and admonishes him for the way he treated her when they were together.
Youssef's wife asks for a divorce. Farah weds Mohamed. Khaled kicks his wife out of the house after a fight. Mona has a fight with Adel and his mother. She gets in an accident and dies. Dalal takes care of Mona's child.
