A group of American soldiers come across a little girl, who Professor Lob decides to take in. He teaches her several languages and works on developing her intellectual abilities. A few years later, Modesty manages a casino for a shady businessman, which is attacked, resulting in a hostage situation. Modesty tries to save her and the hostages life by challenging the mob leader to a gambling game.
