Fawzy meets Hassan, his childhood friend, at the train station and introduces him to Malek. The three of them agree to travel to Cairo to participate in a job competition at a company. Fawzy stays with his uncle Riad, and Samiha, Riad's daughter, becomes interested in Fawzy.
As Fawzy, Hassan, and Malek win the competition and receive their new job at the company, Fawzy likes the school teacher Mervat, who tries to convince her mother Mangouda not to sell sweets in the neighborhood. Laila suffers from her brother Salah’s negligence in his studies.
Mohsen assigns Fawzy to review the accounts of Fekrya's company. At the same time, Malek likes Mervat, and Hassan asks Fawzy to help him get engaged to Samiha. Moreover, Fawzy asks Laila to marry him, but she refuses because she is responsible for her younger siblings.
As Samiha is upset by Fawzy's deception of her, Hassan confesses his love for Samiha to Malek. Mohsen tells Fekrya about her brother Medhat's manipulation of the company's accounts.
Mervat and Malek's engagement party takes place, and Medhat tries to bribe Fawzy. Moreover, Mangouda quarrels with Laila because of her brother Salah.
Fawzy decides to leave Abu Samiha's house so that he does not force him to propose to his daughter, and Medhat agrees with Fekrya to seize the company's money and implicate Fawzy in the matter.
As Medhat tries to convince Fekrya to sell subsidized products on the black market for their benefit, Abu Samiha tries to fix things between Laila and Mangouda, and Fawzy decides to marry Fekrya.
Samiha collapses upon hearing the news of Fawzy's engagement to Fikreya and is taken to the hospital. Mohsen decides to remove Fawzy from reviewing Fikreya's company's accounts, and Medhat agrees with the latter to forge some papers to facilitate the shipment of subsidized products.
The police arrest Medhat, and Fawzy helps him get out on bail pending investigation. Samiha and Hassan get engaged, and Malek gets angry at Mervat’s decision to travel abroad to work as a teacher.
As Fawzy and Fekrya get married, Mervat travels, and Malek gets a promotion at work and helps Laila get a job at the company.
Fawzy offers Hassan a job at the factory, and Mangouda creates a problem with Malek to break off his engagement with her daughter Mervat so that she can marry a wealthy man abroad.
Samiha advises Laila to get closer to Malek and confess her love to him, and Hassan confronts Fawzy about the embezzlement of the company and factory's accounts.
Fawzy tries to question Mohsen’s integrity at work and tells Hassan that Mohsen is corrupt. Malek decides to leave the property he lives in when Mervat returns from abroad after her husband’s death.
As Mervat looks forward to returning to Malek, Medhat and Zakaria are sentenced to prison, and Zakaria threatens Fawzy with confessing to falsifying the accounts if he does not compensate him financially.
Mervat is shocked by Malek's request to marry Laila, and Fekrya confronts Fawzy about causing Medhat's imprisonment and the allegation of bribing Mohsen and embezzling the company's funds and she asks him for a divorce. In the meantime, Fawzy is sentenced to prison.
