Zahra rejoices when she passes her exams, and her boyfriend visits her parents to ask for her hand in marriage. As her father and mother approve of him, her brother, Al-Tohamy, doesn't.
The Hajj gets in a car accident with Mubarak on the day of Zahra's wedding. The Hajj passes away, while Mubarak is rushed to the hospital. It turns out that Al-Tohamy is the once who plotted the accident.
The family holds a funeral repast, and the elder son receives the mourners. Meanwhile, Mubarak meets the Hajja and gives her the money before he travels to Casablanca where he intends to live with his daughter.
Al-Tohamy meets Ibrahim and offers him money in exchange for marrying Mubarak's daughter. Al-Tohamy doesn't want Zahra to live at her husband's house, and her mother is at sixes and sevens.
Al-Tohamy poisons the cattle and accuses Abu She'ieb of the crime. Zahra is heavy-hearted that she cannot go to her husband. Meanwhile, Ibrahim proposes to Mubarak's daughter but she rejects him.
Mubarak goes to the Hajja and asks for the documents stating that the Hajj paid the taxes for the cafe. Upon returning to her husband's house, Zahra shortly returns back home and tells her mother that her husband is reckless and immature.
Ibrahim marries Radwa, Mubarak's daughter, and works with him at the cafe. He has Radwa's baby registered as his son, despite knowing at heart that he is Al-Tohamy's baby. Zahra stays at her parents' house and refuses to return to her husband's.
Al-Almeen's wife falls pregnant and the doctor asks her to be careful in order not to have a miscarriage. Zahra's husband refuses to divorce her, while Al-Tohamy refuses to offer her any help. Aisha gets the gold from her mother's house to help Abu She'ieb.
Al-Tohamy confronts Abu She'ieb and the latter yields and seizes Mostafa's land, the one that the Hajj left him. Aisha tells her mother that she will stand by her husband against her own brother.
Ghaly's mother goes to the Hajja so that Zahra will go back to her husband, but Zahra insists that Ghaly must divorce her. Radwa's husband kicks her out of the house.
The Hajja tries to convince her son to pay the cafe's bills to Mubarak, but her son refuses, even though Mubarak is in a terrible financial status. The Hajja gives Mubarak some money, while Al-Tohamy offers Abu She'ieb's money to buy his silence about the cattle's poisoning.
Ghaly goes to the city to beg for Zahra's forgiveness, but both she and her aunt refuse. Zahra returns to her family's house and Al-Tohamy promises to get Ghaly to divorce her. The money that Abu She'ieb got enables him to pose as a rich man as he has a makeover.
The Hajja quarrels with Aisha over Abu She'ieb, whom Al-Tohamy is suspicious of. The Hajja wants Al-Tohamy to get married while she is still alive. The new agronomist arrives in the neighborhood and stays at Muabark's house.
Somaia quarrels with her husband, for she is jealous of the secretary and wants him to fire her. Mubarak returns to Marrakesh and assures Alaa's family. Meanwhile, Aisha gets mad at Abu She'ieb for not telling her about the calf he bought.
Al-Tohamy seizes Mostafa's land and prohibits him from working in it. He also gives Ibrahim money to buy Mubarak's cafe. He then meets Al-Almeen, his father's lawyer, to find a way for him to get all his father's properties transferred to him.
Al-Tohamy decides to seek the assistance of the young engineer, his friend's son, who works in the Ministry of Agriculture, in order to change the activity of cultivating his land. Meanwhile, Abu She'ieb refuses to work with him.
Abu She'ieb wants to take another wife and considers stealing his wife's jewelry to offer to his bride-to-be. Al-Tohamy visits Al-Almeen and offers him and his wife gifts. Al-Almeen's wife catches Al-Tohamy's eyes. Zahra wants to get a divorce.
Seeing how he cares for his appearance, Aisha suspects that Abu She'ieb is having an affair. He later admits that he's married, and both she and Al-Tohamy get mad at him. Al-Tohamy kicks him out and vows to take revenge on Abu She'ieb.
Aisha leaves Abu She'ieb, and her aunt tries to reconcile them. Al-Tohamy tells his mother that Hesham wants the money, but he doesn't have it.
Al-Tohamy meets with the elite of the neighborhood, and Abu She'ieb attends to beg for Al-Tohamy's forgiveness. Aisha still refuses to get back to Abu She'ieb. Zahra develops a crush on the engineer, while Al-Tohamy says he loves Al-Almeen's wife.
Al-Almeen's wife suspects that he's having an affair with the secretary, the thing that her husband absolutely denies. Abu She'ieb reconciles with Al-Tohamy and tries to help him with his plans.
Al-Almeen's wife has a miscarriage and blames her husband for it. Meanwhile, Aisha is joyous as she stays with her family and delightfully makes them couscous. Al-Tohamy plots to seize Al-Makky's land.
As Al-Tohamy attends a horse festival in Marrakesh, he meets Ghaly and learns that he has been learning horsemanship. Al-Almeen is still in disagreement with his wife who suspects and insists that he's having an affair.
Zahra meets Alaa and tells her he wants to marry her. Ghaly falls off the horse. Al-Almeen takes his wife back home. Aisha gets back with Abu She'ieb.
The Hajja rejoices when Hesham returns from Casablanca. Al-Tohamy tells his mother that he wants to get married. Radwa enlists the services of Al-Almeen's firm as she seeks divorce from her husband.
The Hajja quarrels with her sons, for Hesham doesn't want to marry his cousin, and Al-Tohamy gifts his girlfriend with machinery for her factory. Radwa tells the lawyer that she wants her child to bear his real father's name.
Al-Tohamy's girlfriend rejects his gift, while he tells the Hajja that he wants to marry her. Zahra's lover tells his family that he wants to marry her. Meanwhile, Al-Makky plows the land, despite Al-Tohamy's objections.
As Zahra goes to an open field with her lover, he flirts with her. When Ghaly sees them together, he attacks the man and stabs him. Al-Tohamy is enraged that his sister is going out with a guy behind his back.
On the day of Al-Tohamy's wedding, Zahra doesn't attend and goes to Casablanca instead. The police arrive at Al-Tohamy's house to interrogate him about his father's death; following a confrontation with his partner, Al-Tohamy faints. At the hospital, Al-Tohamy asks Mubarak to forgive him.
When the family gathers to discuss inheritance, Al-Tohamy gets mad and tells them he owns everything, only Hesham will get his share. Alaa asks his family to go with him as he proposes to Zahra. Ghaly becomes a lunatic.
