In the wake of WWII, the Soviet vet Ignat is sent to work at a labor camp in Siberia, where German and Russian prisoners languish in harsh conditions. Trapped by his own trauma from the war, Ignat soon pours his energy into setting up a race between a ghost train and his own train.
