After winning its battle with Leonidas' 300, the Persian army is now marching south towards the Greek cities. Athens is the first city on the path of the Persian army, with its strength in its fleet, Athens is forced to an unwilling alliance with the traditional rival of Athens, Sparta whose might lies in its infantry. Even with the alliance, the Persian Army still preserves the supremacy in numbers at both sea and land.
