The events revolve around the problem of divorce and its psychological effects on women, and what happens to children growing up in a broken family. It also tackles the resulting economic and social problems through the story of Salwa, who marries Khaled and lives in oppression and cruelty throughout her life until she obtains a divorce from him and takes care of her two daughters alone.
