Lubna, an only child, sees the world as her father and believes everyone should treat her the same way. This contrasts sharply with Samia, the gardener's daughter, a pragmatic and assertive young woman who understands her rights and responsibilities. Lubna suffers from the fact that people don't treat her like her father treats her.
