Two married couples, Renai (actress Rose Byrne) and Josh Lambert (actor Patrick Wilson) have recently moved into a new house with their three children. One day, their son Dalton hears something in the attic, he goes to investigate, but suddenly he falls off the ladder and goes into an unexplained coma. Three months later Dalton is moved home while he still in the coma. Since then, frightening events begin to occur and Renai starts to see and hear people in the house so the family soon moves to another house but the scary events continues on happening again. Josh's mother contacts a friend who deals with supernatural activities and she explains that Dalton became lost in a land called 'The Further', which is a place for tormented souls of the dead. And family faces their unknown destiny......
