Shaher is sad to see how his cousin Tahseen mistreats Abu Mohamed (Mohamed's father) and other people. Shaher tries to reconcile Shahira and her husband, Abu Hedo. Meanwhile, Abu Adham follows the news of Tahseen.
Tahseen spies on his neighbors as he develops a crush on Abu Adham's wife. He spreads lies about his uncles among his friends. Abu Adham quarrels with Tahseen, and Tahseen reprimands Nasry for communicating his news to Abu Adham.
When Tahseen starts a fight and beats Nasry, the police intervene, and Abu Adham promises to resolve the issue. Abu Adham meets with the people of the neighborhood and points out the truth of Tahseen's lies about his inheritance.
The men at the neighborhood celebrate Abu Abdo's ascension to the Sheikhdom (tribal leading), and Wedah gets injured during the party. It turns out that Wedah has feelings for Rowaida. When the police summon Tahseen, Abu Wedah (Wedah's father) postpones the matter.
Tahseen's plot to break into Abu Mohamed's house is foiled. Abu Adham warns Tahseen against rumoring lies. Abu Wedah discusses with his son the decision to wed him Rowaida.
Badie'a informs Umm Wedah (Wedah's mother) of Tahseen's attempts to spy on her daughters and asks her to have Abu Wedah protect the girls. Umm Safwan (Safwan's mother) enlists the help of a sorcerer to get Wedah to marry her daughter Zakiya. Tahseen and his friends rob Abu Salah's store.
Abu Adham, Abu Lotfy, and Abu Wedah meet up to discuss who the burglars could be. Tahseen runs away when Abu Adham sees him spying on Afaf, and the whole neighborhood learns about his harassment of his neighbors.
Abu Adham disowns Tahseen and asks the tribal leaders to banish him from the neighborhood. Umm Safwan visits Abu Wedah's house. Tahseen takes shelter at his friend Abu Qa'oud's. Umm Tahseen's (Tahseen's mother) hatred towards her husband's benevolent family becomes evident.
Abu Adham recounts to the people the history of Tahseen's father. Umm Safwan is shocked to learn that Wedah wants to wed Rowaida, so she asks for Rowaida's hand in marriage for her son Safwan, while Safwan proposes to Salma, Salem Bey's niece.
Umm Safwan's plot is fruitful as Rowaida and Safwan get married. Abu Adham chases the thieves and one of them is injured.
Rowaida breaks down when she learns that her suitor is Safwan, not Wedah. Safwan is pleased to see Wedah and Rowaida's love story dashed. Abu Mohamed seeks treatment for his daughter.
Abu Salah learns of Umm Safwan's foul plot. Safwan is summoned for his military service, and Wedah tries to postpone it. Shaher chases Tahseen, who seeks Abu Wedah's protection.
With the recurrent robberies at the neighborhood, Abu Adham grows suspicious of Abu Mohamed. The condition of Abu Mohamed's daughter continues to worsen. Safwan gives the cold shoulder to Abu Wedah and treats him disrespectfully.
As Tahseen and his partners have a disagreement regarding splitting up the loots, Tahseen burns his partners and flees. Abu Salah quarrels with Abu Safwan because his wife put magic charms in Rowaida's room.
To atone for his prejudice against Abu Mohamed, Abu Adham offers Abu Mohamed and his family financial aid. Shaher protects the women when a group of thieves attacks them, and Abu Khiro miscommunicates the incident to Wedah and Abu Adham.
Hashem learns that he was unjust to Shaher. Abu Adham receives the news of Tahseen's death. Umm Khairo (Khairo's mother) tries to get closer to Shaher's family, despite Shaher's rejection. Abu Adham holds a funeral for Tahseen, unaware that he is still alive.
Umm Khairo has second thoughts about wedding her son to Wedah's daughter. Hashem grows wroth when his son visits Shaher. Abu Mohamed enters a horse race, riding Abu Adham's horse.
Tahseen takes a new identity and re-emerges as a man called Salah. Abu Safwan urges Abu Salah to expedite Safwan and Rowaida's wedding. Umm Wedah learns that Umm Safwan has been telling lies about the former's daughter.
A huge quarrel takes place between the families of Abu Safwan and Abu Salah, as well as Wedah and Safwan. Rowaida is upset that she is helpless and has to marry Safwan forcibly. Tahseen arms his men to conduct their illegal acts.
Wedah leaves the neighborhood. Abu Salah cancels Rowaida's wedding when he learns that Safwan is engaged to Salem's niece. Wedah rescues a man attacked by highwaymen.

Tahseen's plot to rape Afaf fails, but he manages to steal her gold jewelry, clothes, and Ayash's sword. Shaher retrieves the sword. Afaf grows suspicious of Shaher. The police arrest Safwan and his father.
Wedah and Rowaida get married, much to Umm Safwan's displeasure. Abu Wedah promises to send Safwan to the army right after the wedding. Shaher quarrels with a group of thieves.
As Tahseen sneaks into Abu Adham's house, Shaher grows suspicious that Afaf is cheating on her husband. Afaf believes Shaher to be the one sneaking in, and Abu Adham stabs him.
Shaher refuses to give Abu Adham's name away. Tahseen's partner sells the sheath of Ayyash's sword to a street vendor, only for the sheath to reach Abu Adham's house. Hashem quarrels with Shaher.
Tahsin shoots Abu Qa'oud, stirring sedition between Al-Kom neighborhood and Ayyash when a stranger claims that Abu Adham was in cahoots with the shooter. Afaf is forced to return to her parents' house.
Abu Adham follows new leads as he promises the people of the neighborhood to find the real culprit. Tahseen vanishes.
Wedah and Rowaida get married. Abu Safwan turns against his wife. Abu Qa'oud passes away. Symptoms of pregnancy show on Afaf, who must endure her family's mistreatment of her.
Tahseen murders Abu Adham before the eys of Aboud, a deaf man. Afaf believes Shaher to be her husband's murderer.
Afaf holds a grudge against Shaher. Wedah fails to get any information from Aboud. Tahseen devises a plot to kill Shaher.
Wedah marries Nabiha so she won't be scandalized. Afaf gives birth to a baby boy. Wedah is summoned to do his military service.
The people of the neighborhood cooperate. Hashem learns that Shaher is innocent. Wedah follows leads pointing to Tahseen.
Rowaida is pregnant. Afaf refuses to take a new husband. Hashem and his son are arrested. The people of the neighborhood must endure the violence and the poverty imposed upon them by the colonizer. Shaher arrests Tahseen, and Aboud stabs Tahseen, only for the truth to be revealed.
It turns out that Tahseen is not Ayyash's son. Rowaida learns that Nabiha's baby isn't Wedah's. The police release Hashem and his son, who travels abroad.
When Nabiha passes away, Rowaida looks after her baby and Nabiha's. Shaher proposes to Afaf. When Wedah gives Nabiha's baby to her family, they leave him out in the wild; another tragedy awaits Wedah back at home.
