Forrest Gump has a low I.Q, but his mother makes him go to a regular school and since then he started creating his fate even if he doesn't know what it is. Starting from serving in the Vietnam War, to his shrimp fishing business, and becoming a running champion.
The film depicts several decades in the life of Forrest Gump, a naïve and mentally challenged, yet athletically prodigious native of Alabama who witnesses, and in some cases influences, some of the defining events of the latter half of the 20th century in the United States; more specifically, the period between Forrest's birth in 1944 and 1982.
