Bahr lives with his mother after his father's disappearance under mysterious circumstances. Their debts accumulate, and Bahr is forced to look for work to help his mother with expenses.
Bahr asks to work for Awad in construction, and he falls for Shamma. Meanwhile, Marzouk falls for Awad's sister Sarah, and Abu Jassim (Jassim's father) demands that Bahr pay off his mother's debts.
Bahr is afraid that Abu Jassim will seize the house due to large debts. The ship's captain, Arhamah, quarrels with Bahr and prevents him from building his house because he is pursuing his daughter, Shamma. Jassim meets Shamma and falls for her.
Bahr asks Abu Shamma to forgive him. Marzouk asks to marry Sarah, and Bahr works in Ismail’s textile shop.
Bahr objects to his mother's work as a seller in the market. Awad rejects Marzouk's proposal to marry Sarah. Jassim threatens Bahr that he will seize his house for not paying debts.
Bahr asks Abu Jassim to postpone payment of the debts, so Ismail advises Bahr to seek the mediation of Arhamah. Jassim robs his father’s shop, and Hamza asks the head of security, Mutlaq, for a job with him as a guard.
Arhamah asks Ismail to gather sailors for diving. Abu Jassim refuses Arhamah's mediation and insists on selling Bahr's house.
Awad works with Safar, and Mutlaq scolds Hamza for falling asleep while working.
Mutlaq is forced to imprison Bahr due to his inability to pay the debts and his refusal to sell the house. Ismail asks Umm Bahr (Bahr’s mother) to marry him so that she can live with him in his house. Safar promises Awad that he will achieve large profits by working with him.
Sarah tells Shamma and her mother that Bahr is imprisoned, so Atiq offers to help the latter escape from prison and leave town.
Mutlaq decides to have Bahr's house valued and sell it to Abu Jassim. The latter plots with Atiq to value it at a low price, and Marzouk is forced to work as a water seller.
Arhamah suggests selling the house to someone other than Abu Jassim for a higher price. Sarah files a complaint against Jassim and his friends for terrorizing Umm Bahr.
Sarah refuses to marry Safar, and Arhamah pledges to pay Bahr's debt in order to get him out of prison.
Jassim is accused of robbing the gold store, then he quarrels with Bahr and threatens him with a weapon. Abu Jassim asks the latter to drop the report against his son. Bahr tries to convince Arhamah on agreeing to let him work with him in diving.
Ismail asks Bahr to agree to let him marry his mother, and Bahr prepares to travel with Arhamah after his approval.
Sarah objects to Safar's control over her brother Awad, and Arhamah is upset that Umm Bahr is forced to agree to marry Ismail to pay off the house's debt. Bahr says goodbye to his mother and travels with the divers.
Arhamah bids farewell to his family and travels. Abu Jassim becomes angry when he learns that Bahr is traveling with Arhamah to dive. Mutlaq hands over the money to Abu Jassim and takes the contract of Bahr's house.
Ismail asks Sarah to persuade Umm Bahr to marry him. Arhamah sends a letter informing his family of his ship's disruption and his disembarkation on an island.
Safar quarrels with Awad at work and they turn to Mutlaq to arbitrate between them. Arhamah succeeds in returning home with the sailors.
Arhamah incurs a lot of debt after his huge loss in diving. Bahr asks his mother to help Arhamah’s family in his ordeal. Sarah mediates with Awad to hire Bahr to work with him.
Awad asks Bahr to mediate with Marzouk to work in the incinerator. Arhamah’s financial condition deteriorates, so Abu Jassim demands that he pay off the debts. Bahr offers Arhamah to sell his house again to pay off his debts.
Bahr sells Arhamah's daughter's knitting to help him provide for his household, and Bahr tells Arhamah that he will travel at sea again to search for pearls with Atiq.
Safar suggests that Arhamah should sell his ship. Bahr and Atiq find a pearl and try to sell it to Abu Jassim, who offers a low price.
Bahr and Atiq sell the pearl to Abu Saleh, and it becomes clear that Abu Jassim and Atiq are plotting to buy Arhamah's ship. The latter asks Ismail to try to collect his money from the sailors that owe him money.
Jassim steals from his father again, so the latter reports him to the police. Meanwhile, Awad agrees to Marzouk and Sarah's marriage.
Abu Jassim asks Arhamah for the hand of his daughter Shamma in marriage. Also, he continues searching for his son after he runs away.
Awad's illness becomes severe. Arhamah quarrels with Abu Jassim on account of the latter bargaining over Shamma and Jassim's engagement in exchange for forgiving Arhamah's debts.
Abu Jassim asks Ismail to mediate with Arhamah to agree to his son’s marriage to Shamma, so Ismail suggests that he pay Shamma’s dowry and waive the debt. At the same time, Sarah and Marzouk’s wedding takes place.
Arhamah offers Mutlaq to mortgage the house or sell it to pay his debts to Abu Jassim. Arhamah prepares to travel at sea in the hope of being compensated for his previous loss.
Ismail fights with Jassim because of his stay in Arhamah's house, and the latter loses his way and does not return home. Bahr finds a pearl while diving.
Bahr becomes rich and decides to buy Arhamah's house from Abu Jassim. Arhamah returns home, and Bahr and Shamma's wedding takes place.
