Khalil Abu al Dahab inherits a traditional public bathhouse in Darb Al Sanjakdar and struggles with the government over its ownership. Ruqayya, his lovely daughter, suffers from her father's stinginess and anger. She is experiencing emotional distress as a result of her mother's death during childbirth, and Lady Warda, a former maid for one of the beys, is with them.
