Koraim Bey receives a message from Napoleon that he is on his way to Alexandria. Napoleon orders to treat Egyptians with tolerance and establish good relations with them. Mahmoud bids farewell to his wife and her family before he travels. Sheikh Mustafa asks to marry Ruqayya.

Ali tries to help an Armenian girl he loves, which upsets his father, who asks him to stay away from her. After Napoleon manages to reach Alexandria with his men, Koraim Bey sends to Murad Bey in Cairo asking him to provide him with soldiers, so Murad asks his men to unite and confront the French.

As Koraim Bey receives a letter from Napoleon trying to reassure the Alexandrian people that he has come to save them from the Mamluks, Napoleon meets Koraim Bey and tries to agree with him on that. He appoints Kléber as governor of Alexandria and Menou over the city of Rosetta before he meets Murad Bey in Damanhour.

Saadallah is upset about the situation and Ali advises him to return to the Levant. The Armenian, Arshan, decides to bid farewell to Hajj Mansour and leave with his daughter Lucy. As Nafisa tries to help Murad Bey, Makram Bey tries to convince her to collect taxes from the rich, not the poor.

The French manage to win their first battle against the Egyptians. As Ali is shot in the foot, his father, Hajj Abdul Rahman, takes care of his treatment. Hassan leaves with his wife Ward, accompanied by his father, Abdul Rahman, his mother and sister, but bandits attack them and kidnap their son Salim.

Abdul Rahman searches with Mansour for his grandson Salim after he was captured. Hassan returns his son with the help of Nafisa. Sheikh al-Sharqawi meets General Dupuy with the state senior officials, asking to release the Mamluk captives and to choose a delegate from among them; they choose Mr. Fart El Ruman.

Ali goes to open the shop of his father, Hajj Abdul Rahman. General Dupuy asks Sheikh al-Sharqawi to collect taxes for him from the people and asks for a large sum of money from Mrs. Nafisa al-Bayda. Napoleon discovers through a letter sent to him by his brother that his wife Josephine is cheating on him.

Ibrahim Bey succeeds in defeating Napoleon's armies in El Salheya. As Saadallah, the Levantine, recovers his health, Ali helps him restore his trade again. Meanwhile, Mrs. Nafisa al-Bayda sends a message to her husband, Murad Bey, informing him that the French are marching towards him.

Napoleon and his associates agree to invade Syria after taking over Egypt. Denon manages to help Ruqayya after her father's death and promises to deliver her to Egypt to her brother Mahmoud. A general asks Ali and his colleague El Banna to work for him and gives them time to think about it.

Denon bids Ruqayya farewell; Hajj Abdul Rahman and his wife Umm Hassan receive her; she informs them of her family's death. Dupuy arrests Mr. Koraim, who came to meet Bonaparte on charges of inciting people against the French. Grand Sheikh of al-Azhar and Sheikh Bakir ask for a pardon for Koraim Bey.

As Ali and his mother turn to Mrs. Nafisa to help them find Ruqayya's children, she sends a message to Murad Bey to return them. Bonaparte asks Desgenettes to help the Egyptians and summon doctors from France to treat them. In prison, Koraim Bey admits to inciting people and is sentenced to death.

Koraim Bey is executed by firing squad. Mrs. Nafisa finds Ruqayya's children. Al-Azhar sheikhs demonstrate against the taxes imposed by the French. Nafisa receives Napoleon, who presents her with Dr. Desgenettes's book about the plague; Nafisa thanks him for what he has given the people of Egypt.

Ali tells his friend El Banna he loves Ruqayya. Napoleon decides to execute whoever sends or delivers any messages to anyone after deciding to execute the minister who brought al-Sharqawi a message. The military governor, Dupuy, accuses Nafisa of helping Murad Bey, imprisons her, then releases her.

Napoleon and his friends celebrate their victory and he tries to celebrate with the people of Mahrousa, but they revolt against him and succeed in killing Dupuy, which angers Napoleon, who decides to take revenge on them after they looted Caffarelli's house. Many people are dead and wounded among Egyptians.

A quarrel occurrs between the people and Sheikh al-Sharqawi when he tries to talk to them. Then he goes, accompanied by the sheikhs, to Napoleon, trying to persuade him to cease fire. Napoleon breaks the armistice, opens fire, declares war on the whole land, and his soldiers enter Al-Azhar with horses.

Ali hides inside the church from Fart El Ruman. As Napoleon decides to get out of Al-Azhar, the rest of the sheikhs are released as Sheikh al-Sharqawi begged him to, in exchange for the sheikhs' pledge not to revolt again. Menou is upset with Napoleon's occupation of Egypt despite signs of dissent in the army.

Ali returns to his home. Napoleon prepares to meet al-Jazzar's army at Acre before the Turks and British unite against France. The French begin to think of digging a canal between the Red and Mediterranean Seas to link trade between India and France. Ali decides to marry Ruqayya, who agrees.

Abdul Rahman sets a date for Ali and Ruqayya's wedding. Zainab hopes for Mahmoud's return and Napoleon's exit from Egypt. Fourier's wife requests a divorce after she is exposed for cheating on him with Napoleon. Hassan refuses that Ali work in the French workshops.

Ruqayya tries to convince Ali to apologize to his brother Hassan. Napoleon heads to Acre, where al-Jazzar has prepared a vast army. Murad Bey asks the Bedouins to arrest Yacoub so that he can solidify his relationship with Napoleon. Ruqayya's son is killed while trying to rob the French.

The French succeed in defeating al-Jazzar in Acre. Ruqayya decides to postpone the wedding. The French, who are responsible for digging a canal linking the Red and Mediterranean Seas, get frustrated after they find there is a difference in the levels of the two seas. Napoleon asks to meet Makram Bey.

Hassan quarrels with his wife Ward after her return from the French club and with her father Mansour. Ali refuses to consult his father Abdul Rahman about Hassan and his wife's buying another house to move out of his father-in-law's house. Makram Bey refuses to cooperate with Napoleon against al-Jazzar.

Hassan assaults his wife Ward, who dies of her wounds. Mahmoud tries to calm the situation and informs his father-in-law and his brother-in-law, Ali, that al-Jazzar is threatening the army of Napoleon, who is defeated by al-Jazzar and his most important generals are killed in the war, including Caffarelli.

Ward's funeral takes place. Hajj Mansour files a complaint against Hassan, but he drops it in honor of Mrs. Nafisa. Murad Bey arrives in Giza to meet Napoleon's army after his defeat in Acre.

Nafisa welcomes the return of Umar Makram, and worries about the Mamluks if the Turks defeat them. Sheikh al-Sawy accuses Fart El Ruman of spying on the merchants. Napoleon denies to the sheikhs of Egypt that the French are leaving, stating that he didn't sign any agreement with the Turks and the British to leave.

As Denon bids Ruqayya farewell and informs her of her son's death, she goes crazy and everyone looks for her as she leaves the house. The French try to dig the Suez Canal. Napoleon asks Kléber to take charge of Egypt after him, but Kléber resents Napoleon's lies about the good condition of the army.

As Ali looks for Ruqayya, Sheikh Mansour says he saw her in the desert, yet Mahmoud doesn't find her, but eventually, he and Ali do. Napoleon thinks of leaving for fear of the Turks and Egyptians. The Turks begin to take power, heralding the departure of the French.

Lily advises her friend Amina to leave Cairo with her French husband who got injured. Ruqayya leaves a letter to Mahmoud that she went out to find her surviving son after the first one was killed; she is able to reach her son Mahmoud. Khadija asks her son Ali to speed up his marriage to Ruqayya.

The Egyptians try to unite again, especially after the Turks united with them to fight the French led by Kléber. As Ali helps in that, he donates weapons to the people, but the French are stronger. Kléber's army meets with Murad Bey's army in Giza, and the French are able to put down the uprising.

As Kléber and his army are still killing the Egyptians, Murad Bey sends a message to him asking for a ceasefire; Kléber accepts. The Turks decide to leave, but the Egyptians refuse and attack them. Nafisa is upset about Murad's reaction to her and the removal from office. Kléber offers Murad Bey to rule Upper Egypt.

Kléber claims that the British prevented their withdrawal from Egypt and that the Turks paid for it. As the Egyptians and the French exchange fire, the Bulaq neighborhood is exterminated; Ali and the men try to aid the injured. Smith pledges to the Grand Vizier to secure a safe exit for the French from Egypt.
