Maimouna suffers from a bad psychological state, sees ghosts, and has nightmares. Meanwhile, Khalil remembers his mother going crazy, and Mahmoud hits someone with his car and then runs away.
Abu Maimouna (Maimouna's father) insists on placing her in a psychiatric hospital after her condition deteriorates. Mahmoud believes that there is a relationship between his sister Somaya and Naguib, and Mahmoud sees ghosts in the house.
Khalil leaves the house and his grandmother searches for him. Adnan is upset that his wife, Rabaa, is neglecting their children because of her work.
Khalil agrees to work for the cleric. After Nadia refuses to get engaged to Mahmoud, he tries to assault her.
Naguib is upset that Somaya is avoiding responding to him. As Khalil attempts suicide, his grandmother remembers how his father abandoned him and his mother. Mahmoud decides to marry Nadia.
Umm Ziyad suggests that Umm Maimouna have her daughter treated by a witch doctor, believing that she is possessed. Somaya asks Naguib to ask her brother Mahmoud for her hand in marriage. Rashid agrees to Nadia’s marriage to Mahmoud.
The doctor treating Maimouna tells Naguib that she has schizophrenia, and the hallucinations return and control Khalil again because of his mother's madness.
Mahmoud puts impossible conditions for Naguib in order to agree to his marriage to Somaya. The ghost of the person whom Mahmoud hit continues to appear to him. The cleric's son is enraged because Khalil works for his father.
Mahmoud discovers Rashid's trade in drugs. Abu Naguib asks his son not to get engaged to Somaya and stay away from her. The psychiatrist tries to get Maimouna to remember the night of her husband's accident.
The psychiatrist agrees with Naguib that Maimouna should complete her treatment in the hospital. Khalil's grandmother remembers how his father abandoned her daughter while she was pregnant.
Maimouna continues to see the night of the fire accident, while Naguib visits Mahmoud again to convince him to agree to his marriage to his sister.
Mahmoud apologizes to Nadia for what he did to her and asks her to marry him. When his grandmother becomes ill, Khalil takes care of her. Maimouna has hallucinations and sees ghosts.
Somaya believes that there is a relationship between Nadia and Marwan. Naguib tells Somaya that he was forced to sell his car to do what Mahmoud asked. Khalil decides to search for his father and meet him.
Nadia's brother advises Mahmoud to consult a psychiatrist for the nightmares he sees. Rabaa quarrels with her husband and asks for a divorce. Khalil remembers his father locking and chaining him. Rashid quarrels with Ibrahim for exposing his drug dealing.
Khalil tells his grandmother of his love for Sheikha and his desire to marry her. Rashid tells Saeed of Ibrahim’s drug addiction.
Khalil's grandmother remembers her daughter's condition before marriage and how her father forced her to marry a cruel man. Youssef asks to marry Maymouna, and Rashid proposes to Somaya.
As Mahmoud asks Nadia to quickly complete their marriage, the latter insists on not telling Somaya about their marriage and on presenting it to her as a fait accompli. Khalil proposes to marry Sheikha.
Nadia incites Mahmoud against Somaya and tells him that she's still seeing Naguib. Maimouna refuses to marry Youssef.
Mahmoud quarrels with Somaya and prevents her from leaving the house because of her relationship with Naguib. Mahmoud thinks about confessing the hit-and-run incident so he can get rid of the hallucinations, nightmares, and ghosts.
Mahmoud plans with Rashid to take revenge on Naguib. Khalil tells Sheikha about his suffering since childhood, and her father quarrels with him. Somaya tries to warn Mahmoud against marrying Nadia because of her past, but he pays her no attention.
Maimouna imagines her daughter drowning in the sea. Naguib decides to travel abroad. Marwan threatens Nadia with exposing her past. Khalil's grandmother asks Sheikha to agree to marry Khalil.
Somaya kicks Nadia out after discovering her incitement of Mahmoud against her. Mahmoud marries Nadia, while Abu Sheikha prevents his daughter from going to Khalil's grandmother's house.
Naguib and Somaya decide to get married without Mahmoud's knowledge, but she doesn't show up on their wedding date. Abu Sheikha quarrels with Khalil and rejects his marriage proposal to her.
Khalil decides to leave the town and travel, but when he returns, he finds that his grandmother has died out of grief over losing him. Rashid reveals to Mahmoud his bad financial situation.
As Nadia asks Rashid to stay away from her, he threatens to expose her past to Mahmoud. Khalil remains saddened by his grandmother's passing. Adnan tells Rabaa that he married the maid, Ruby, due to her constant absence from the house.
As Nadia remembers her stepfather assaulting her, she tries to find out the reason for Mahmoud's nightmares. Rashid asks his assistant Saeed to deliver items to someone without knowing that they contain drugs. Rabaa kicks Ruby out.
Youssef looks after Maimouna's daughter in hopes of marrying her. Abu Hussein seeks to convince Abu Sheikha to agree to his daughter's marriage to Khalil, but her father forces her to marry her cousin Khaled.
Abu Youssef confronts his wife about her resorting to witchcraft in order to keep Youssef away from Maimouna. Saeed gets suspicious of Rashid’s work. Naguib’s uncle falls ill because Naguib hasn't returned to the town.
Saeed is arrested and Rashid seeks to escape. As Sheikha is forced to marry Khaled, Khalil has to return to work for her father. Mahmoud receives a phone call from an unknown person trying to uncover the past of his wife Nadia.
As Rashid tries to rape Somaya, Khalil saves her. Rashid is arrested, while Mahmoud kills Nadia. Maimouna is admitted to a psychiatric hospital due to her poor condition, and Naguib returns.
