The four friends, Ahlam, Mariam, Kamilia and Salma, all share a romantic inclination. Salma is upset that her friends don't appreciate her success. Ahlam is trying to find her footing in marketing, and Kamilia is preoccupied with her relationship with Karim.

Kamilia fights with Karim after she discovers that he is seeing another. When Ahlam returns home, she is inspired when she learns that her doorman kicked his wife out and married another. Mariam is upset by her fiancé Hesham's lack of care.

Ahlam's colleagues resent the way she talks about men. Mariam is displeased by her father's behavior after his retirement. Karim and Kamilia reconcile. Salma sneaks into the house of a businessman whom she wants to work for.

Ahlam tries to help her friend Tha'er who is having trouble with his producer. Mariam tries to help her father, a retired general. Salma tries to convince her parents to supply her with enough money for a wardrobe change. Assem invites Ahlam to dinner.

Kamilia takes Mariam shopping but Mariam ends up upset over a revealing dress that might upset her fiancé . In a fit of rebellion, Ahlam goes out with Tha'er. Salma meets the advertising director Youssef. Kamilia clashes with Karim when he objects to her working with an infamous businessman.

After she breaks up with him, Kamilia is distressed when Karim meets a Russian girl. The painter Muhi invites Ahlam to his studio, only to attempt to molest her. Mariam is angry that Hesham hasn't called or asked to see her. Salma and Youssef grow close after he helps her during filming.

The girls take a trip to Ain Sokhna where Ahlam meets her former sweetheart, Amir. She grows annoyed with Assem's puzzling behavior. Karim proposes to Kamilia.

Mariam's younger sister enlists her help to convince their parents to allow her to marry her sweetheart, but they decline to allow her to get married before her older sister. A misunderstanding leaves Ahlam distressed when she visits Assem's new office. Karim and Kamilia get his mother's blessing.

With the preparations for Kamilia's wedding underway, Ahlam clashes with her mother over her refusal of the old-fashioned way of marriage. Mariam tries to convince Hesham to allow her to work after marriage. Salma grows impatient with her boss's harassment.

As Kamilia goes on her honeymoon, Mariam clashes with her controlling mother who tries to dictate her every purchase. Ahlam is distressed when she learns of Assem's negative view of marriage. Salma successfully closes her first deal and is rewarded by joining Youssef's team.

Mariam and Hesham agree on buying only a few pieces of jewelry. Ahlam tries to convince Tha'er that Hyam is in love with him. Kamilia is upset that Karim didn't accompany her to the celebration of Mariam's nuptials.

When Hesham informs Mariam that he doesn't have enough money for her wedding dress, she is forced to ask her father to pitch in. Salma is distressed to learn that her ex has gotten engaged. Ahlam spends time with Assem.

Kamilia quits when her boss pressures her to use her marriage to Karim for his own benefit. Kamilia informs Ahlam that Assem dislikes the notion of marriage after his divorce. Salma sees Youssef at Mariam's wedding and introduces him to her friends.

Kamilia gets depressed after quitting her job. Ahlam looks for information about Assem's ex-wife. Mariam tries to work through the tension in her marriage by reading books about married life and marital joy.

Ahlam discussed her relationship with Assem and Tha'er with her friends who try to convince her that Tha'er is in love with her. When Tha'er suffers from a heart attack, Assem and Ahlam take him to the hospital.

Ahlam is delighted when Tha'er recovers, but Assem's incessant traveling leaves her in a funk. Mariam is furious when Hesham invites his friends over without regard for her feelings. Salma and Youssef grow close, as Kamilia gets her friend Doaa to watch over Karim.

As Ahlam's mother dies, Salma is shaken when her own mother gets sick. Mariam seeks out her mother and mother-in-law for their experience with married life. When Kamilia's father suffers a financial setback, Kamilia tries to improve her relationship with her mother and her mother-in-law.

As Ahlam moves into a new house after her mother's death, Assem tries to console her. Kamilia's parents ask for her help. After a fight with her husband, Mariam leaves for her father's house.

Mariam discovers that she is pregnant. Kamilia sells some of her jewelry to help her father. Ahlam is encouraged by her friends to ask Assem about his previous marriage and why he got divorced.

Karim is frustrated that Kamilia didn't get pregnant. Mariam and Hesham reconcile after he finds out about her pregnancy. Youssef quits and Salma seeks out a composer who promised to launch her career as a singer.

Salma discovers that the composer Hossam is using her. After a period of improvement where he helped around the house, Hesham regresses and returns to his old habits when Mariam hires a maid. Kamilia consults a gynecologist.

Assem throws Ahlam a surprise birthday party. At the party, Youssef ignores Salma as Mariam ignores Kamilia after Hesham tells her not to talk to her anymore. Hesham is upset when the baby turns out to be a girl.

Kamilia discovers that she can't have kids. She confides in Ahlam who tells her to seek treatment abroad. Salma tends her resignation but her manager refuses and assigns her a new task. When she fails, she gets fired.

Divorce looms over the girls' lives as Mariam learns that her father wants to take a second wife, and Kamilia discovers that her father is having an affair. Kamilia is concerned about Karim's reaction to her infertility.

Karim admonishes his mother after she tries to convince Kamilia to allow him to marry another in exchange for 3 million pounds. Salma extorts her father.

Ahlam gets a publishing deal. Kamilia is hurt that her parents are trying to get her to concede to Karim's mother's offer. Karim refuses to take another wife. Salma can not find a job. Mariam grows jealous when Hesham neglects her for his job.

Ahlam finds out that Karim got engaged to another woman and tells Kamilia. Mariam is angry that her husband is going on a work trip. Salma is mistreated by her new boss.

Kamilia gets a divorce and Ahlam tries to console her. Salma confronts her father and accuses him of causing her sister's murder. Mariam insists to stay at her own place while Hesham is away, despite her mother's objections.

Kamilia moves on after her divorce. Mariam gives birth on the same day Ahlam is celebrating the first anniversary of her text messages project. Salma recovers after taking drugs, and invites Youssef to Ahlam's party.
