Sam and Nargess, living in a village in Iran, have been in love with each other since childhood, even though their families are rivals. As her brother does not accept that relationship when they grow up, a conflict arises between the two families and ends with the killing of Nargess's brother and the sentencing of Sam to death for murdering him.
