In 1882, New Mexico, Virgil and Everett are itinerant lawmen who are hired by desperate townsmen as marshal and deputy to enforce law in Appaloosa. When a wealthy rancher arrives in town with his gang of criminals, disrupting business and killing three lawmen, Virgil and Everett are determined to hunt him down.
