Munged is an honest teacher who doesn’t give private lessons like his fellow teachers do, yet he can’t afford to treat his sick wife, educate his son, nor even meet the basic needs of his home. After his wife dies because he can’t pay for her treatment, he decides to give private lessons, abandoning his principles.
